Why is it so hard to comprehend that a condom can be too snug around the base and cut off blood flow? It's not a length or "she can fit it on her leg" issue.

Or would female condoms be an alternative to consider? Do they work well?

I had my first experience with a female condom earlier this month. It was uncomfortable and painful for me and I wasn't able to get in all the way. We tried lubrication with it as well and that didn't work. Perhaps we didn't use it correctly, but based on my experience, I don't recommend them.

It also made it look like I was putting my penis into a giant anus instead of her vagina. I actually liked that part, though, if just for the novelty.

Thankfully I actually saw her put it in, because if I had just found it discarded in the trash can, my first assumption would be that a guy with an absolutely giant monster cock had recently visited.

I've had the same problem before where roughly half an inch to an inch doesn't make it to the base and ends up rolling up and slipping off and shit. Best solution I've found so far: fire and ice condoms. The gel / lube stuff that's in it helps keep it on.

What is your exact girth?
