confession: i tried to play fallout for the 1st time the other day and i didnt like it. im trying fallout 2 this weekend

If you have a DC and Shenmue and can't be bothered to play it you are pretty stupid.

Shenmue is in my top 5 favourite games. It's an experience. Way ahead of it's time.

The series looks like it'll get quite close.
If RGG 3 ends up being Yakuza 1/2, plus Kenzan camera, the third game could end up being a more action packed Shenmue.

I don't know what makes Yakuza remind me of Shenmue. Maybe it's the fact that it's set in Japan? The atmosphere? The 'separate' battle sequences? There are plenty of third-person games set in modern day, but none of them remind me of Shenmue -- Even Bully, which some people here think is similar.

I've never even played Yakuza, but when I saw screenshots of the main character walking around Japan and standing in convenience stores and stuff I was like "Oh hey, Shenmue!"

It's like the complete antithesis of any other game out there.

While 99% of games reward ADHD, this game rewards patience.

No wonder it didn't make it.

There are some small similarities that will make the Shenmue fan scream. But overall, Yakuza is nothing like Shenmue.

Well, Yakuza being a game with a narrative (instead of the other way around) is a pretty huge difference. The game and narrative aspects of Yakuza not sucking ass being another.

im a big shenmue fan.....yet i never finished the 1st game (played near the end), and I only played a bit of shenmue 2 (the beginning in Hong Kong)......I've been meaning to finish these games, but just never got around to doing so. SIgh.......one of these days, i suppose



i did, however, finish yakuza......very cool game. similar to shenmue, but obviously more of a fighting/brawler and has more action than shenmue.

I haven't played either but I'm intrigued. I like my games slow and tedious. If they release them both together on a current-gen system for $30 or something (10th anniversary edition?) I'll bite...
