Oh ok. No I don't consider new KI a Rare game, just a Rare IP. I did like it and can't wait for the PC version. I also understand Rare can't make two 90+ MC games a year like in the old days so I don't really care at this point who makes the games, as long as they're in good hands and are at least somewhat true to the originals.

Clearly not the case here.

I don't agree with that at all. The character is pretty much a squirrel Deadpool. But with more booze, more British and slightly less murder.

Yes they will if they treat the IP with respect like KI.

We'll never get to see how well a traditional Conker or Banjo would sell until they get their heads out of their asses and make one.

But that would be too easy, too successful and make too much return on investment considering how low the budget would be required to make a modern conker/banjo.

If they gave the slightest fuck about making money they would have done it by now.

Even if we ignore that the success of Kickstarers like Yookah-Laylee and movies like Deadpool, I'd like to think that the number is still more than people who want this new game, and probably more than people who want to play Hololens games in the first place.

Hey man, platformers are my favourite genre. I want all of the platformers. I just don't think they have that bright of a future on Xbox One.

True. I think we're talking more about traditional 3D platformers here though. Ori is part of the Metroidvania-ish wave we've witnessed over the last few years and a bit different I'd say. Regardless, that game deserves all the success it can get.
 
People who think that a new Conker wouldn't be in demand are delusional, considering a kickstarter like Yooka-Laylee established a $3.2 million backing.

The demand is there. The supply, sadly, is not.

Like yeah, okay, cool tech demo but why use Conker? Who does that serve? No one outside of a niche audience knows who Conker is these days and you're just going to piss off said audience with the slapdash use. Did MS learn nothing from Conker's Project Spark 'reveal?' Just create a generic blob character to showcase your tech, that should be the real star here, now the headline is going to be 'Did you see what MS did with Conker, again?'

Its MS showing that they are aware of the fact they own the rights to some of the best ips ever made and are happy to shit all over their legacy and by extension their fan base.

We know that Hololens is small as fuck, so how the hell are we suppose to see this abomination, much less utilize him in an AR game around a room?

I'm glad Rare is able to work on other things than trying to replicate what devs from a bygone era created.

I dont know what else MS can do outside of Rare Replay for those fans that is feasible in any way

If MS actually gave the slightest fuck about these IPs, then all of these IPs would have a higher chance of actually being good and successful.

It's a matter of whether the owners care enough about the IPs to do anything worthwhile with them. MS obviously doesn't. I don't understand why they even bought Rare if they're not going to do shit with their properties. I guess Killer Instinct got lucky.

I mean I'm sure they COULD make Conker relevant again in this day and age. He could be very "now" if they cared enough to put a good writing staff behind this and develop a good game. I don't think they do care enough though and tbh I'm questioning the "Conker has a huge fanbase" sentiment.

Name something of quality Rare has released that wasn't the rehashed Rare Collection in the last 5 years. Oh wait you can't. Either let them develop the games that made the company great or shut it down. No reason to keep it open to release garbage.

They are developing a game they want to make, Sea of Thieves.

If they wanted to work on Conker they probably could have, but they chose to work on SoT.
