Well yeah, true. I guess a new Conker today wouldn't really have the same effect as it did during the N64 era, but that doesn't mean a new Conker couldn't work at all. I wouldn't be against the idea of having a new Conker make fun of current gaming trends (Conker's Big Reunion already did this by making fun of microtransactions and modern FPSs) and modern pop culture.
In order for it to be good, it doesn't necessarily need to have the same effect as the original BFD did. Let it be its own thing. They may not ever top something like BFD, but I still think it has potential to be great in its own way.

As someone who is currently playing Conker on the Xbox I have to ask. What the hell is that thing? It looks more like Bubsy than anything. The actual idea behind the video seems fine enough, but man was calling that thing Conker was a bad idea. Just look at that like/dislike bar.
Microsoft feared they would come up with another Microsoft Bob or Clippy.
Should have been Blinx The Time Sweeper, he can hover up stuff and it would look cool in Hololens. He even has goggles.

Even if that wasn't Conker it's still a horrible character design regardless of name!

I played something similar (obviously much worse in tech) with the 3DS thingy when it released. It was fun for a few hours, and this feel exactly the same, and it really doesnt matter if it looks better or can read surfaces. It looks exactly the same type of fun.
Its exactly the opposite from when I tried the Vive for the first time, and said, wow this really could be the future if done right.

Could this be a stealth new Conker tease for X1? I mean, most of us and our grandmothers would probably know that Battletoads Xbox One is gonna be announced this E3 (or soooon) with all the tease going on - Spencer T-shirt at events, Rash in KI, Shovel Knight etc.

Why would MSFT bundle/promote one of their new upcoming hardware with a lesser known IP like Conker and not use characters like Chief/Cortana from their flagship IP like Halo or heck, even bundle Minecraft as they showed back at E3 a couple of years ago?
