Console controller sensitivity question (FPS games)

So I've heard different theories in regards to whether you should have lower vertical/higher horizontal sensitivity vs. equal horizontal/vertical sensitivity

I've been messing around with both options in Overwatch (PS4) and I can't even figure out which I prefer. Seems like I go back and forth.

Curious to hear feedback from others, thanks in advance!

First of all, don't be afraid to experiment and give all sorts of sensitivities a go.

I used to play max sensitivity on CoD, now I'm complete opposite. Prefer to have it low so that I can make slight adjustments - harder to do when its super sensitive.

edit: I keep them equal, find it tough otherwise

For games that have separate sliders for vertical and horizontal sensitivity, I usually have vertical slightly slower.

I usually just play with it at the max. I feel like doing that and becoming accustomed to it you can pick up almost any fps and have similar reflexes. opposed to tinkering with the settings etc.

Oldman mode, slowest speed possible in all FPS games :D Maybe slightly faster if the game allows different speed for ADS vs hipfire.

Horizontal and Verticle the same.
Last i checked my Overwatch console sens was 88 or 77

I atarted using much higher sens so i could quick scope better in MW2 lol

I mean, it depends though doesn't it?

I have higher horizontal for sure but it really depends on how the game is dealing with it.

Acceleration though... Any game that let's you turn it off, turn that shit off.

I hate games that don't let you.

Wow

Sensitivity is one of those things where I wish there was an agreed upon standard that was used across all games. Having sliders, numerical values, or 'high/medium/low' in different games makes it a pain to get things set up so they feel right.

It varies for me depending on the game. Sometimes I crank it all the way up, others I keep it low. Usually I keep both axis the same.

to specify, on consoles.

can't aim accurately with sticks if the speed is insane, my thumbs don't work in that small increments :D Which is why RE7 was great in VR, just look at what you want to shoot.

gotcha

think i'm going to go back to using same horizontal/vertical
