Consoles that link up Crossfire/SLI style - Is it feasible?

How difficult would it be to programme games to be played with 2 consoles linked together via SLI.

Those 30fps 720p games would suddenly be able to be played at 60fps 1080p or would they?

It would be a great thing to introduce midway through a consoles life when you'd can be able to pick up a 2nd one for much less after numerous price drops and it would help extend the life of it aswell.

In short, no its not possible , not unless the console was designed from the ground up to do it, which would make the console too expensive to begin with.

Yay, let's infect the console space with the hardware race that plagues the PC market. Yay!

And the consoles would have to be built with this in mind to make use of it through a really high speed connection between the two for a game to full advantage of such a thing. Otherwise, you could do it, but I'm not sure why you'd want to since just using a cable between them would maybe get you some kind of wonky, practically peripheral-like use at best.
