Fantastic production values on the trailer. But I honestly just don't like how the suits look. Those legs, and the colors, none of it makes any sense. What even are these suits and why the fuck are they in the jungle? Why are they flying around and shooting random wildlife? I still don't know what the fuck this game is even about ... on any level. The lack of a coherent story is absolutely shocking. Why does it look like they live in a poor middle eastern bazaar when they have Iron Man suits?
All credit to NB for the live action production values executed well.
I mean got to play the game to get the story, there is already a lot of info available though:
According to myth, "the gods vanished," and left the
world in chaos. Now, the Anthem is all that remains.
[4] In this futuristic, dystopian world, humanity has been isolated behind the protective wall of
Fort Tarsis, shielded from the many dangers of the primeval lands beyond. Players act as
Freelancers – a group of courageous individuals dedicated to protecting the people of Fort Tarsis from threats outside the wall.
[5] The Freelancers are in conflict with the
Dominion, who are trying to use a powerful force called the
Anthem Of Creation as a weapon
Helena Tarsis lived 500 years ago
[2] in a grim period for
humanity; every day was a struggle just to survive, with few resources available, and little time to utilize them. Helena, however, envisioned something different.
Tarsis, her husband
Garred the Chronicler, and inventor
Arden Vassa recruited and trained first of the Legion of Dawn to overthrow the urgoth. Arden Vassa built the
Javelin of Dawn. This was the first
Javelin, and one was given to each of Helena's disciples. With these powerful tools at their disposal, General Tarsis led the Legion of Dawn to victory against the urgoth, finally giving humanity a chance to live in peace.
[3] Tarsis fell in battle preventing the ungoth's final act of vengeance, the attack on the human settlement of Antium.
She led humanity to a place of strength and security, where they could build a fortified city that would withstand the nightmarish threats that roamed the lands. This led to the creation of
Fort Tarsis, which was named after her.
[4] She came to favor using the
Colossus Javelin
And the big baddie in the trailer is
The monitor leader of the dominion, one of the three factions the Legion of Dawn split into.
