Cool stuff about your consoles that you didn't know

Xbox1 and Xbox360 can play PAL discs as long as it is the same region as your unit (Japan and Europe share the same region which is "2") or the disc is basically region-free.

This applies to DVDs and Xbox360 games as far as I know. I have the UK boxset of 24 Season 1, the Australian PAL version of Splinter Cell DA on 360...works fine.

Hmm, seems simple from the sound of things. The only reason you couldn't do this easily on the Xbox was the HD was locked, but if the tutorial is right then it's not locked. Then again, haven't really heard of people successfully upgrading their hard drives, so there's likely more to it than is being said there.

Not that I'd need it. 9 gig free here.

I didn't know you could click the topic names in the Wii Shopping Channel to get news about the latest update. I thought it was just plain text telling me "Merry Christmas with Pauline!"

Thank god I'm not alone ! :lol

I also discovered it was possible to eject discs without turning power on. I know, it's stupid, but given the type of drive, I thought it wasn't possible.

It's impossible if the Wii is unplugged...

it was a while before i realised that you could turn the xbox dashboard into 480p. you had to press both thumbsticks and pull both triggers at the same time as i recall... doing the same again would turn it back. it was kind of neat.

... Topic Names in the Shopping Channel?

What exactly are you talking about? This sounds unfamiliar.

Just found this out when I downloaded a VC game. If SUPER Mario is there when you're downloading the game (collecting the coins and hitting the blocks), you can shoot fireballs like in SMB by pressing A on the Wiimote.

I don't know what happens if you're just the regular Mario, or Luigi.

On your birthday the DS makes a special start up noise.
If you join PictoChat when it's your bithday, it chimes a bit and says "It's YourName's birthday Today!" in rainbow text.
