Coolest title screen/music?

I agree with so many in this thread I can't list them all.

But OoT gets special mention from me because it was pretty much perfect.

And then it treated you with a cutscene spoiler inbetween playthroughs. It forced you to watch all the way through to see them all.

I like the original Metroid title screen music better then Metroid Prime. It is so moody.

The Metroid title music is perfect. The title screen is kind of boring, but the music more than makes up for it.

Simple but blew me away at the time!

this game is awesome and has an awesome opening.

cmon, a zombies howls 'WOO HA HA HA" at the title screen AND the theme song sounds like kitschy horror b-movie soundtrack mixed with the munsters theme.

Metroid Prime BY FAR. I didn't even like the game but it was the only time in my life I was like "whoa" when I saw a fricking title screen.

I really, really like SM64's title screen music, with the single wood flute or whatever it is playing in the background.

In fact just thinking about listening to that music, pouring over my individual level star lists for the first time just brought back a really powerful wave of nostalgia.

Metroid Prime (pretty much as perfect as you can get)
Shadow Hearts (best opening menu music ever, fucking LOVE it)
Zelda OOT (are you kidding, the logo flame fade in and the music, link going on horseback over hyrule field? FUCKING LEGENDARY)
Tales of Symphonia (gorgeous)
Super Mario 64 (the face rules)
Nocturne (awesome art)

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne - both the opening/title sequences. They set the mood perfectly for playing and the music is some of the best rock guitar found in any RPG.

There are some amazing ones in this thread. Mega Man 2, how can you forget that? And Shadow of the Colossus is awesome.

Suikoden 3 blows them all away.

Too bad the game itself wasn't nearly as good. :|

My candidates:

Civ4 (PC)
Final Fantasy Legend (GB)
Secret of Mana (SNES)
Double Dragon (NES)
Kid Icarus (NES)
The Legend of Zelda (NES)
Metroid (NES)

Hell yeah. Also, the game over screen.

If you're playing the SNES version, maybe. In the Genny version, the thing (which was never clearly shown to be a zombie) says simply, "WOO HA HA!"

EDIT: and it's Metroid Prime

#1: Legend of Zelda. no question.

I've also always though that the combination of the minimalism and the perfect music that is characteristic of the series.

here are some shots:

huh? I think some people here a confusing intro with title screen :/

Ah, good point. For some reason, I thought intro. Title screen wise, I'd have to go with Twisted Metal Black. I loved the way the camera moved through the time frozen carnage.
