Coolest title screen/music?

I agree with these choices.

LED Storm (Amiga version) by far.

Tim Follin FTW !

Oh, and Time Trax (Genesis/megadrive) unfortunately it was never released

Metroid Prime (Gamecube) of course!

Katamari Damacy (PS2)

The Legend of Zelda (NES)

The Legend of Zelda: OoT (N64)

RC Pro-Am (NES)

Batman (NES)

Diablo (PC)

Final Fantasy VII (PS)

Metroid (NES)

Shadowgate (NES)

Super Mario Kart (SNES)

Man, why aren't more people putting Zelda: OoT?
Oh hell yeah! It just screams, "Welcome back to the world of Zelda!" so touching.

That Super Street Fighter intro with Ryu is fucking incredible and still impresses the hell out of me today. Just imagining a real 2d game that looks like that intro all the time is amazing.

While It's not the best, Buck Bumble's title screen music was awesome. :D

Could there be any other? Plus "To Zanarkland" has to be one of Uematsu's greatest pieces.

Metroid Prime for sure.

Great animation and awesome music.

Wind Wakers opening-tune also gets some of my appreciation.

I agree with everyone about PSO and Metroid Prime. Damn I used to leave the PSO one up for a long ass time.

Oh and Snake Eater. Damn I love that song.

Zoe of the Enders 2 gets top honors fromme though. I am a sucker for ZOE music.

Metroid Prime was definitely the greatest.

Going back through RE on the DS reminds me of how classic the RE opening movie is.

Morrowind, Metroid Prime, and Halo 2(distant 3rd) are the first that come to my mind.

For retro stuff...

Mario Bros., Skate or Die, and Chrono Trigger are the ones I thought of first.

Final Fantasy VII.

Metroid Prime.

Snake Eater.

WarCraft III(not Frozen throne).

And damn... I whish I could relive the pre-release hype of Metroid Prime.
These mp3's are making me moody.

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

The title screen wasn't all that impressive, but I think the music that plays over the title screen ranks among the best video game music.

Grabbed by the Ghoulies! No, seriously. I get a kick out of the opening tune and the little critters popping in and out of the frame. :lol It's not the coolest, but it's one of my favorites.

I don't know if it's been said yet or not (if not, for shame!), but Castlevania: CotM all-the-fucking-way. That ghastly choir blew me away first time I heard it, and every subsequent start-up as well.

It's not THE best but the title screen in Sword of Etheria (or OZ) is really good. It's a mixture of awesome cutscenes and gameplay to Michiru Yamanes version of Polovtsian Dances. Better than most games and their still pictures. It isn't some kind of intro either which technically isn't a title screen, the 'Press Start Button' is there in all it's glory the entire time.

mega man 2 was the first one that came to mind. even though he's never hanging out in a bldg like that...i loved how it panned up and then the rockin music.

metroid prime and metroid are good choices too.

also, just hearing "double dribble" or "blades of steel" was cool

Shadow of the Beast's intro music is simply godly.

The title scren that has left the longest impression on me ought to be Dogs of War, it was the coolest thing ever for me as a kid. Nowadays it's laugh inducing, but there you go, funny how some things change like that.

Show us some more Rob Hubbard C64 SID chip Love.

Another c64 SID opening I know and LOVE is by Martin Galway and he composedÂ…

As for non c64 opening music I dig Samurai Spirits/Shodown, Ikaruga, Street Fighter II (the arcade version), SMB3, The Legend of Zelda (NES), Sonic the freaking Hedgehog, and most of all Gunstar Super Heroes.

The horror! Apparently, a USF rip was just released for it. The N64 had some equally silly intro songs in some other games. Anyone remember Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, Clayfighter Sculptor's Cut or Donkey Kong 64?
