Cop bodyslams girl student

In a fucking civilized country this is what happens:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KImbM1GtPo4

Not my video but that's exactly what happens when police try to take someone in, just hang out in Shibuya at night and enjoy waiting for HOURS just watching how patient the police are until the guy/girl rides the cop car. Japan-gaf can probably confirm this.

Edit: One time I saw the police spill some guy's glass or something then they went and bought him water, pretty sure if that guy was in the US he'd get that glass shoved down his throat. So sad...

Edit 2: If you don't lay your hand on the police they can't lay their hands on you, simple as that.

I don't know man, those officers spent minutes herding him into the car. Minutes! Who can be expected to spend that much time doing their job?

Probably been posted already, but:

http://m.nydailynews.com/news/natio...-officer-tackled-teen-phone-article-1.2412665

They allow this dude near elementary kids?

It's a clear misallocation of resources. I mean, you could send a much smaller officer to throw elementary school kids across the room.

I was sad to learn the katsudon interrogation technique wasn't real :(

just saw the video, that fake cop should be arrested.

you have a 250 lbs guy picking up a 70-80 lbs teen and forcefully slamming her to the hard ground while being contained in her desk

If the girl was disrupting class she is in the wrong and should be removed by security can't debate that
but how the officer enforced that......
its an utterly unjustifiable escalation, frankly I'm actually surprised he didn't have a gun drawn too

surely you demand they get up? if they don't you grab their arm and try to lift them? or drag them in the chair? you should not leap to flip them over in the chair and drag them by their limps out of a room! could have broken her spine and caused multiple injuries!
cop shouldn't do anything. the girl should have been suspended from class by the principal if she was disruptive without use of force. No violence necessary.

I have been suspended dozens of times without needing a cop to use force.

How crucial is it to remove the kid though. Seriously. Anyone who has went through school has seen an asshole kid disrupting the class. Do they really need to be taken out and forcefully removed in this manner? I don't see how the teacher couldn't have immediately regretted the decision to get a cop in their.

This looks like a case where the cop was annoyed, probably justifiably. But then unjustifiably used excessive force to resolve the situation. This is the type of person you should be afraid to be around to be honest.

The FBI and U.S. Justice Department will investigate a South Carolina sheriff's deputy's brutal takedown of a high school student — an assault apparently prompted by the girl's refusal to hand over her phone.

Good to hear. That looks like felony assault and battery according to South Carolina law. I hope Ben Fields is arrested and charged accordingly.

So fucking tired of social media at this point....
Do I think the cop was a bit on the harsh side ... yes.
But what the fuck is it with these kids man? I mean seriously.... Having your cell phone out in class and refusing to put it up or obey the teacher. That in itself if reason for the student to not be there. That girl was disrupting every other child in the class that was attempting to learn.

One of the big problems with situations like this is that there are a lot of people that refuse to listen to police and do as they are told. They refuse to listen to anybody and they do what they want to do.

I can see how as a cop you are called to "lets be honest"... a punk ass kid that acts as if they are better than everyone. The kid refuses to listen and shit like this happens. Doesnt make it right, but you still need to remember that the kid refused to leave or listen.

Just last week at my old highschool there was a kid that got in a fight in the cafeteria. The deputy came in to break up the fight and the kid would not listen to the cop and swung on the cop like 3 times. The cop tazed the kid, and now some of the kids and parents are saying it was wrong to do that.....

If you listen and do as you are told... the likely hood of things like this happening are slim to none.

Mixture of fear and bystander effect probably. Every single kid there was probably waiting for the teacher to do something.

I keep coming back to this as well. I can't believe the teacher didn't say anything. There is literally nothing you could hang over my head to prevent me from speaking up in the face of unnecessary, illegal violence of this sort, particularly if the person being violated was a student of mine.

The lack of reaction in the classroom is crazy. Wow.

Honestly, that was the correct decision, sad to say. Cop was out of control and any attempt to speak up and interfere would probably have led to someone getting hurt or killed.

Teacher should definitely have spoken up. But I also understand his fear - he's a black man.

What in the fuck is this post?

If a cop were to unload into a group of unarmed teenagers then this country is even worse off than this video would lead you to believe and that's fucking frightening.

edit: and no cops on campus should ever be allowed to carry a weapon other than perhaps mace/pepper spray. Only people carrying weapons in that situation should be the actual police.

If they're black teenagers? The cop would be considered a hero and the kids provoked him to shoot. If anything he hopes they would try that - he told another kid he was next. Cops like that would love a good excuse to shoot them all.

Was he not the one that called for the cop to come.. .You (just like I) dont really know his stance on the situation. He may have been having problems with the student. People are quick to side with the student who refused to listen to the teacher, or the school administrator... There is an issue with that.

There are school discipline procedures that have been in effect that are appropriate to handle this situation. Attacking the girl is not one of these. This event is a symptom of modern police training.

I deal with kids who refuse to listen on a daily basis. As a teacher I have been given a variety of strategies to deal with this ranging from tactical ignoring to getting in a head teacher.

At no point in my training were we taught the desk flip chokeslam move.

Nope, people are astounded by the officer's action. No one is taking the girl's side as to her behavior. The condemnation is solely upon the officer, a grown man, attacking a non-violent young girl

I'd advise for you to not have kids. Because no matter what, they will be defiant at some point. And in the back of your head you might be thinking about doing what the cop did because they were being such an ass. But you don't, because they are a fucking kid that will do stupid shot from time to time. Doing it to someone else's kid is even worse

In a school setting like this, you call the parents immediately if you have to resort to such force. Imagine being the parent and seeing your daughter completely manhandled in this risky way. My dad would have gone nuts. All for a fucking phone? The other students weren't at any risk from this student.

Were you a fan of the old days where teachers would take rulers and just beat kids because they didn't do what they were told?

If her legs go stiff in the desk and she makes it so that she will not get out of the desk on her own... then the desk turning over is just as much her fault. Sorry... kid or not... she was asked to do something and refused. It is her fault. Did she deserve to get hurt if she got hurt... no... but she should have listened.

I have offered my strategies, that work mind you, to handle these kinds of things. The absurd assumption that the goal is to remove her no matter what is disgusting.

suspension without using force works.

even better, calling the parents works because kids are more scared of their parents than anything else

It would be interesting to see how the posters who rationalize the cops' actions would react to their own child or relative being manhandled as such. It really would. Oh then it would be different, because this is my child! There is no justification for a grown man -- much less a man his size -- to assault a girl like that. Completely disproportional response.

I have children. I was not a fan of getting popped with a ruler in class when I was in school.. but it happened. And, my parents only cared that I listened to and respected my teachers and people of authority.

lmao I love gaf sometimes. There is a defense force for everything.

It's nice that UK cops are willing to risk getting stabbed by some maniac, but I wouldn't expect anyone to risk their life so we can say some knife wielding psycho was subdued without gunfire.

Isn't that literally what you should expect from a police officer?

This is her fault?

The point I have been trying to make is that (and social media is to blame).... none of us know the whole story. You don't know that the parents were not called. You don't know that the teacher has or has not had problems with the student in the past... you dont know. You see a clip and assume that the kid is innocent.... You or I don't know that.
I usually attempt to steer clear of threads like this, because if you don't agree with the masses you are quickly verbaly assaulted on here and not allowed to give your views without being called names... but sorry... rules are rules. Dont try to stand up a cop. If she would have stodd up when the cop asked her to... none of this would have happened.
