Coro Coro leaks new mons and more Alola forms

So the description says the sea cucumber Pokemon spills its guts and turns them into a fist to attack. Here's footage of a real-life sea cucumber expelling its intestines.

Oh, and here's a narrated documentary on how they fight using their guts.

Nature is weird!
Quoting myself to add that this sea cucumber is probably at least part Poison-type, since according to the documentary, the guts expelled by real-life sea cucumbers are toxic.

What amazing creatures! Great concept for a Pokemon. :-)

Or they go a lil wacky with it and give us another poison/fighting type. I'd be well up for that.
That'd be awesome.

If it's like real-life sea cucumbers, I think the guts will come out the white frilly bit in the back, while the star-shaped mouth will open to expel the feathery tendrils used to capture food.

This Pokemon might look crazy in motion. And it might have a very hairy evolution!

So the sea cucumber Pokemon opens its mouth and out comes its intestines shaped like a fist. Yet it also looks so cute. It's hardcore.

I'm not sure if they come out the front or the back. We need some sea cucumber experts to tell us if the feeding tendrils and the toxic guts come out of the same orifice.

But yeah, I like it. I suspect that like the new sardine Pokemon that turns into a school of fish, this Pokemon looks simple at first, but then you see its animations and it'll add a lot of complexity to its concept.

I don't know how much you know about sea cucumber culture (I'm an expert) but intestines and fighting are large parts of it.

I reckon it's gonna end up high def/high atk and if they go for another new ability maybe a version of water absorb that poisons the opponent instead of healing you. Or maybe something to do with the clinginess of urchins, like if you use a contact move it prevents switch out. Fuck you u-turn!
If this thing gets a cool evolution, it's gonna give Barbaracle a run its for its money as one of my favourite water-based Pokemon.

I'm excited for ghost Snowman.

Really should be called Snorror. Man that fake dex had such great names! The sea cucumber was called Anenemie. Love it.

I'm still guessing Fire/Dark.
Fire/Dark doesn't redeem LittenWrestler at all imo. It's still in the same mold of the Fire/Fighting gang as far as design philosophy goes.

Is the Sea Cucumber going to be a weird fighting type what with it punching people with its insides?

Also yeah still hanging on Fire/Dark.

Good God, that is freaky. Also upsetting to see the cute little guy getting hit like that. Didn't know sea cucumbers looked so fluffy... But again, seriously freaky.
They were just gently prodding it. And sea cucumbers don't have brains -- just a ring of nerve that reflexively reacts, similar to a doctor tapping your knee to make you kick!

Don't know how trustworthy PokéJungle is, but they say the "fist-shaped organs come out of its mouth," so I guess the star-shaped protrusion between the eyes is where its guts-fist will emerge.

Sea cucumber looks a bit boring but that Guts-fist sounds horrifying. I bet it's going to have a cool evolution

Edit: oh my God is the tiny pink dot it's eye, and the cross its mouth? That's pretty cute, looks like it has a cute little bunny tail (made of intestines)

I think it's based on both a sea cucumber and an urchin. It's mouth clearly resembles the five-point pattern found in many urchins, and reminds of the pentamerous symmetry that all echinoderms share.

That's such a neat detail!

I think it's mouth is supposed to look like a butthole

So the "real leaks" leak...
Its stated a lot of true things, and mentions Rockruff receiving more than 1 evo. If this is the secret it shares with starters, I have more hopes for them receiving new evos too. Guess next month will tell with the poster, but I'm allowing myself to get a little hyped.

Interestingly, Nuikoguma, Sunabaa and Shirodesuna are labelled as CoroCoro exclusive while Yowashi, the Alolan Forms and Namakobushi are not. Makes me think those three won't be in the reveal on Friday

That Cucumber mon looks exactly like an Eledee/Elebit. It's uncanny.

Can't hate on something with a guts punch though.

If we're using "makes a loose reference to something man-made", you may as well stick Diglett and Dugtrio on that list for being whack-a-mole references. As it is, the list is a pretty big strawman because even if Meowth and Gyarados both reference (somewhat obliquely) manmade designs, at the end of the day Meowth is a cat and Gyarados is a dragonthing. You have a strong enough point just sticking to the Grimer, Koffing and Magnemite lines; particularly Magnemite.

So, should we expect more Pokemon on Friday then? It is a bit weird how they just showed off this sea cucumber like "oh yeah, there's this thing too. I'm sure you've already seen it so.... oh wait, you haven't? Oh well".

Last month they showed a few pokémon in Corocoro and then some more on the trailer. Komala in particular was revealed in Corocoro and wasn't officially revealed in the West for a few weeks.

The sardine and sea cucumber are the main ones I want to see detailed on Fri. Here's hoping!

The sea cucumber/urchin Pokemon looks great.

I'm so happy that there's now more evidence pointing towards the Chinese leak being real. I really want the snowman, rugby monkey, and dolphin.

Dolphin could be a cool team addition.

I always gravitate to the more animal-like mons, so far I want Rowlet, Rockruff and Salandit.
Komala, Pikipek and Cutiefly are up for consideration if they have decent evolutions.

Fire/Dark does make more sense if Litten final form is a Heel/bad guy wrestler. A heel uses dirty tactics to win a match, basically a cheater.

What does that have to do with what you quoted though?

I agree with them, it's still a big buff bipedal final evolution. Whether it's fighting or not doesn't matter, it's a boring and worn out design.

So... So you wanted it to be disemboweled?

I mean that he should spill his guts while fighting to win, like give it all you got!

Being bipedal or not is a really shallow view of what makes a design good or not.

hint: Torterra is a great design not because it's quadrupedal but because of its motif

By that logic plenty of the items there shouldn't count as they are ghosts inhabiting something rather than actual inanimate objects.

That's why that list is a bit nonfunctional personally, because it misses a lot of things. Like Darmanitan is based on an object.

Still more interesting than the first two fire starters though.

Does anyone else find it a bit weird that we only know the name of one location in the game (Lush Jungle)? Like, we don't even know what the starting town is called.

As someone who rarely uses fire starters, I'm not too fussed on if he's fire/fighting, fire/dark or whatever, I just know he's the best of the 3 starter evolutions shown, and, unless there really are different forms coming and one makes Rowlet or Popplio absolute stunners, then I'm going with the fire starter.

Well yeah, that's why I also specified big, buff and bipedal.

I wouldn't say Blaziken or Emboar are buff (Blaziken isn't big either), so it seems they only overlap with Infernape to me, and Infernape is a nimble fighter that I doubt Litten's evolution will be.

I don't like Fire/Fighting either buut the only overlap I see is Blaziken - Infernape.

Emboar is its own (ugly) thing. Litten evo looks like it will as well.

Pleasant surprise to wake up to another Pokemon, the "Reverse Fisting Pokemon".

That sucks. I really wanna see the sandcastles' models to see how they animate, since I can see them being pretty fun.

I don't actually mind most of the possession themes, actually. It's a fairly arbitrary line and obviously comes down to personal preference, but I tend to dislike designs that are based on inanimate objects and have no in-game rationalization - I don't mind Voltorb, for example, because the lore describes it as an accident at a Pokeball factory and the first time you meet is in RBY is indeed in a factory (or route 10, just outside the factory). Same goes for Porygon and Mewtwo. Something like Garbador is what annoys me - the 'dex says it was the product of industrial waste and garbage bags, fine, same rationalization as Grimer, but you encounter it in Routes 5 and 6, neither of which are industrialized areas. The road aside, Route 5 is relatively verdant and Route 6 is a veritable natural beauty. So Garbador just ends up being horribly thematically misplaced. If it had been placed in the sewers or something it might have been remembered more fondly as a neat design that summed up the horrific industrial policies of whichever city you hid it in; as it is it's just... a garbage bag.

I actually really like some of the inanimate objects, though - Bronzong is a closet favourite of mine, being based on the legend of dotakugami (that said, it is mistyped - should have been Ghost/Steel, dammit!).
