Costco has lifetime return policy on consoles?

They do but they don't stock consoles in their stores anymore as far as I remember. I believe they still have consoles online but as far as the PS4 goes, doubt it.

Edit: Like other members said, they don't have lifetime warranty anymore.

didnt they nix the lifetime return policy years ago because people would abuse it for high ticket items like Tvs? (didnt read reddit thread) :)

In general Costco is very return friendly so this wouldn't surprise me.

Good question, I know people who have abused the shit out of them with that kind of stuff.

This might be dependent on the actual store than some company wide policy. I need more proofs.

I just checked their website.

We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell with a full refund. The following must be returned within 90 days of purchase for a refund: televisions, projectors, computers, cameras, camcorders, touch screen tablets, MP3 players and cellular phones.

Sounds like they're saying everything is lifetime with the exception of what they mentioned.

Yep, like most products, except electronics. I think consoles still quality as life-time though
Sounds like a really bad business plan but w/e gets customers in, I guess. I'm sure they've crunched the numbers.

Costco requires a membership. It seems to be working for them for decades now. Costco rocks

I believe they changed it for certain items to only be 3 years?

edit: wow I was way off

I've had similar experiences with Costco, they are just really that good. I suppose you are paying that membership fee for a reason. Still, if you do find yourself shopping at Costco often it pays for itself. I miss shopping at Costco.

you could probably argue it but its probably ymmv. most of the exceptions on that list sound like electronics...consoles could be considered "computers" :)

A friend exchanged his Xbox 2 or 3 times. They are always in bundles, and you have to return everything from the bundle to exchange.

It's true. I still have my complete PS3 bundle that I bought around launch in case it fails - then I can get SIX HUNDRED NINETY NINE US DOLLARS back. Damn thing won't die though and I'm too ethical to rip off Costco.

Yeah, Costco Canada only sells bundles of all systems. Though I'd think it would be a bigger issue if someone legitimately has a broken system and you ask them to return everything.

I can see that too, their return policies are generous enough that I see people abusing it for stupid reasons all the time.

Last time I returned something the woman in front of me was returning a bottle of vanilla extract - there was maybe a quarter of it left. According to her, she 'didn't like it.'

That's why Costco is da fuckin' bomb. You get what you pay for.

The policy is if you don't like it (ever), you get your money back. If they receive too many returns for a certain product, then they may stop carrying it.

Last time I arguably "abused" it was when I bought a pair of boots, and they got worn out after about a year. Which is way too fast, IMO. Full refund, no questions asked.

Costco still has a life term warranty on consoles whether they're in store or online is another matter.

Costco just emailed me back.

"We appreciate you taking the time to email Costco Wholesale.

At this time, it is still unclear whether Costco will be selling the new Playstations 4.

Your product suggestion has been forwarded to our buying office for their review. Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us as we value our members' input."

Oh well. I'm likely wait it out anyway. Maybe early 2014 they'll have some in.

Let me just say that during the red ring fiasco, I had two 360's go, each after a year. Since I bought it originally from Costco, I was able to return both of them no questions asked rather than go through the hassle of sending it back to Microsoft. I ended up making money because each time I went back, the price of 360 had gone down!

Now on my third 360 and it's rock solid.
