CostCo Muffins

These are the reason I got fat as a kid, 20 years ago. Looking at the pics, the muffins look exactly the same as always and that's a good thing.

I always loved the apple and double chocolate ones.

Same with me. When I was a kid, I used to eat a whole one every night. Eventually started eating half then just stopped altogether. They're good but way too much.

In university my three roomies and I lived (or were slowly killed) by these things. I saved the day by eating two double chocolate muffins and a 1/2 litre of chocolate milk one night. The following stream of brown chocolate vomite changed our lives forever, we all agreed, no more muffins, and it was time to take a hard look at our lifestyle. my accuracy while being ill needed work back then.

Yeah, eating an entire muffin is insane, two quarters(one double chocolate, one other) is more than enough for me.

By the way, I don't know if they do this in the states now too or not, but the poppyseed muffins here also have frosted almonds put on top of them.

I love love love love love the Kirkland brand.

Its insane that they try to give you a dozen of those muffins tho for 7 bucks. We have to share them with the neighbors or get them when we have company or they will for sure go bad. I like the chocolate ones the best. :D

There should be a Kirkland (Costco) appreciation thread. lol. don't get me started on their polish dogs and pizza. >_<

They're great but Target's Archer Farms Blueberry Muffins are the absolute best. That crumble on top mmm

This thread was giving me deja vu and then I eventually scrolled to my response and realized the thread is 4 years old

I honestly don't know how people can eat an entire one of those big muffins.

I just eat the top usually and throw it away.

Cue seinfeld reference.

I could down one of these with no problem after a 6 or 7 mile jog in the summer. In fact, I might just make ones of these a cheat meal

There are costcos in Japan?

Why yes, a number of them too. Truly miss them as I now live in a country that only has a poor copycat of Costco.

I was always tempted by the muffins but never dared buy any. They looked too humongous. I loved their cookies and pumpkin pies (during Halloween season) but they gave us acne. Worth it though.

Microwaved chocolate chip Costco muffins were my jam as a kid. I've stopped eating them as a adult after learning that muffins were hella bad for you, especially the huge Costco ones.

Thanks for the thread OP these muffins sound perfect for bulking season. Should I be concerned about the ingredients used? I'm okay with the calories and macronutrients.

How did you get yes from that?

Just realised this is a necro thread.

I just realized I was quoted from a necro thread.

You could eat one every single day, just realize that you've eaten over 30% of your daily calories, and the pure sugar count is kinda high. So if the rest of your food for the day was lean proteins and veggies you would be good.

1) I actually thought they made these at the Costco store, but there is no way they'd have that much sodium if they were made in-house. Holy Shit.

2)How the hell is 72g of carbs only 24% of Daily allowance.

Once you start reading labels, you never look at things the same. That 1 muffin would be breakfast and lunch together for me today.
You see the pizza slices? 700 calories. Price wise, it's a bargain. But use it to replace 2 meals or split it. I did that with a chicken bake and asked for a small cup for water.

do u have the nutrition facts for the hot dogs and pizza @ the Costco's cafeteria?

Are they really better? Better than Costco's? I need to find the best muffin with a good cost.
They are definitely better, but cost more. Blueberry is amazing imo. They're very big and have a big top with awesome sugar crumble on it, but they are not cheaper than Costco.
