With the WiiU basically going that route of having a big screened controller, what are the chances that the Vita (or at least the guts of it) become the controller for the PS4. The latest estimates on parts cost for it are $159 and with the PS4 likely 18 months off, that will bring the price down further, possibly allowing them to launch at $399 with a Vita as the controller, making "take and go" gaming much more than just a side project for developers.

Obviously the traditional DualShock would work as well for most games.

I wish Vita was somehow the PS4 with a dock to plug it in at home, as some others have suggested. It makes sense to only have one device when the market is in such a bad state.

The Vita offers fine controls for portable Vita games, but as a replacement for a regular dual shock controller, it would be horrible. It doesn't even have clickable analog sticks, which are a requirement for modern controllers.

Yeah it could be, but I'm not convinced that it would be supported to a degree that would make it significant and thus earn money.

I think that generally, as of now, Vita owners would rather have an HD port of FFXII tens time over being able to use their Vita as a controller in a PS3 or PS4 game.

Sony will probably talk about the PS4 controller when they reveal the system. That's more than the Vita will ever get again.

Serious answer, no. The latency issues involved with something not designed to work around that would be insurmountable.

As others have said, it could be a controller option, but no way it'll be the primary controller packed in with the console.
