Crackdown 3's single player campaign can be played offline w/ limited destruction

It was never known to not be in the online co-op portion of the game, rather a totally separate multiplayer map/mode. This was not revealed until this thread was made and those Tweets.

Lmaooo.

You should have seen the tech demo thread last year when it was proclaimed as, 'real', and 'told ya so'.

Comes full circle now, and more in line with expectation/reservations some had, and were being flamed for.

A special multiplayer map only for this mode. The core/campaign game... NOPE!

Good try. Really tried trolling over year old news.

Up to the launch of the XB1, it was cloud this cloud that, infinite power, like duct-taping 4 consoles, better graphics and physics, etc. They just couldn't shut up about it.
Then presumably both FM5 and Titanfall wouldn't have been possible without the cloud. For Drivatars (that existed in FM1) and a bunch of bots. Since then, we hear it now and then only about Crackdown 3, after a rather dodgy tech demo that was supposedly related to it.

So between that, and the fact that for the past ten years every single Xbox tech demo has been smoke and mirrors (Milo, Kinect, Hololens), yeah, I think they're not gonna get the benefit of the doubt as far as I'm concerned.

Did I miss something, how was it dodgy? Regardless, what Crackdown's doing is on a completely different level to Forza or Titanfall, and you can't really argue against the fact that what it's doing would be impossible without the cloud (certainly on consoles anyway). And fair enough, after some previous tech demos you can be sceptical, but for what it's worth numerous journalists have had hands on time with the demo and have come away very impressed -- the guy from the OP being one of many.
Yes, I know, you're going to tell me that they were also impressed with Milo and Kinect

Anyway, like I said, just wait a few months and we'll be able to see for ourselves.

I say, just let him have his feelings. Other people have theirs.

I'm looing forward to what they are releasing this summer with Multiplayer. I don't know if I'm going to get it or not (depends...I'm liking what I see so far from MS IP this year) but I loved the first Crackdown (hopefully C3 will come with C1 and C2 as a bonus in some form with BC) and didn't get to play the second, so I'm looking forward to it. I knew exactly what MS was doing with Crackdown when they announced that trailer and said it would use the cloud because I saw the real tech demo of cloud computation with video games a vew years earlier at one of their GDC presentations.

So campaign has shitty graphics minus the incredible physics?

Guess this'll be a multiplayer only title for me.

I know I'm in the minority but I welcome the always online model.

It's really best to ignore certain people's opinion, as shown above.

I did not bump this thread. I saw it with a measly 3 pages. That looks like a "new" thread with NeoGaf standards in mind. I get a lot of my news from here, like a lot of people do, and usually never check the posting dates and times of the pages are so little.

Here is a new one for trolling, since you come to the call, must not be much interest, since this is only 3 pages in a year, about a controversial at the time tech when first shown. ;)

Keep fighting the good fight though.

Maybe you should do more research before making definitive statements and criticizing those that defended the tech in prior threads since obviously they knew what they were talking about and you didn't.

There were multiple threads about crackdown around the showing. The multiplayer wasn't only discussed in this one.

Like your posts show you not picking a side.

Edit: You're welcome.

This was why Xbox One was going to be always online. Also why they chose less power than ps4.

Sony got lucky that 8GB of GDDR5 RAM became affordable. The PS4 was originally going to only have 4GB's of it, and MS wanted the Xbox One to have 8GB of RAM, and the only choice they had was DDR3.

Wait, so does that mean you don't get better destruction unless you have XBL Gold?

Of course, I imagine the processing used in this game's MP server destruction is most likely more expensive than any other online game to keep running but they are doing it as a sample to show 'power of the cloud'.

Affordable was not the issue, it was the ram size per chip yeilds. That way they were able to shove 16 512MB chips in there (they were only 256mb chips several months before the change).

Now they have 1GB chips so the newer PS4's only have 8 chips instead of 16.

Also the PS4 still has a more potent GPU. And can theoretically use the cloud for computing as well. It isn't just about RAM.

Will be interesting to see how Titanfall 2 marketing will be handled, now that it is multiplat.

Main thing I'm hoping for is that in Titanfall 2 they use Azure servers as the experience of Titanfall servers was far ahead of anything running on EA servers.

This thread never got traction because most people probably didn't get what was it about in the title. Needs a more clickbait update and it should reach 20+pages.
