CRAZY Accident on I-95 in Baltimore

"Check this shit out yo" *fireball inferno a second later*

Wonder if that guy survived. Couldn't tell if there is a hole between the highways or only a barrier. Cause if that truck fell some yards then good lord.
It was a gap with a drop.

For those saying "Why wasn't anyone stopping," it was clearly a flyover on-ramp, which means from drivers' POV they were coming over a blind horizon.

In this thread, we complain about the foreign accent of the only raw video to come out of a horrible accident.

But Donald isn't even in office yet guys...

Same. He sounds like this shit is funny especially when a truck blows up on fire and he doesn't even sound concerned one bit if the truck driver is okay. Wtf!?

Why make such comments when you didn't watch the whole video? I mean, you have to be aware that if you're wrong, you'll be immediately called out by someone who did.

Is he laughing or crying near the end of the video? I'm gonna assume he's crying and that he's shocked out of his fucking pants for the rest of the video, but I can understand if people assume he's laughing, since crying and laughing can sound very similar. Still makes you dumb for assuming, but still, explains it a bit.

He's crying, I mean, earlier in the video he said he was on the verge of tears already.

Gotta suck seeing all this shit go down and being completely helpless to do anything about it.

Like how the guy filming can bitch all he likes but offers absolutely no help for the situation. Scum

At first I thought maybe he could do something to warn drivers of what's up ahead but then the explosion happened and well, that's probably going to be visible from much further than anything he could do. Far as I can tell all cars in that crash are beyond the flames and the smoke, with that much smoke I wouldn't get closer either due to the extreme risk of smoke poisoning.

That's not a Baltimore accent, or any form of AAVE I'm familiar with. I'm guessing the guy filming is of Caribbean descent.

I got some hints of the accent especially after listening to Scott Van Pelt. It's like his Caribbean accent merged with the Baltimore one.

You would think he would've done something other than continue to film the tragedy while simply commenting "wow" or "yooooooooo".

Yeah I skipped a bit. Didn't really catch everything that he said. But yeah, calling 911, them not showing up in time to mitigate the situation and then seeing that crazy accident must make you feel powerless as fuck. I'd break into tears too.

Stuff like this scares the hell out me considering I have to commute on crazy Dallas interstates everyday and see accidents at least once a week. Its haunting knowing a traffic accident has the highest probability of taking my life.

The fuck video did you watch? Is the accept throwing you off?

I watched the entire video so I don't know what you guys are talking about...but him screaming YO YO YO OMG...didn't sound concerning to me. That was not my reaction when I saw that...like are y'all serious right now?

People react differently. I laugh when I get nervous even though I could be terrified on the inside.

I agree, I'm chalking it up to accent thats throwing us off, but the whole video up until the end, I thought the guy was laughing or in histeria/shock.

He isn't an actor. His emotion sounded completely genuine and concerned to me. When people go into shock they don't react the same way they do when they're just sad or upset about something.

The parts where he says "this is a disaster" and "I hope the guy survived" didn't convince you?

What is the proper way to react when you've likely just seen someone blow up inside a tanker truck in front of you?

Should I bring up the part where he is hopelessly yelling at an onslaught of vehicles to stop, the part where he begs the lord for help, the part where he says he is going to cry, the part where he starts crying, or the part where he says he is going to end the recording to call 911 AGAIN?

I get having a gut reaction and posting before finishing the video. Hell I did that.

But doubling down and quoting the first few seconds of the video with the obvious inability to discern nuances of the accent while pretending you watched the whole thing isn't a good look for you.

There was really nothing that guy could have done. It was too dark to get a warning early enough to people driving that direction. He also had just seen soneone die horrifically right in front of him. If he had been laughing at the victims that would be one thing but you really can't know how you would react in these situations which is why we have professionals.

so many heroes in this thread. why can't obama be as tough as some of these neogaffers?!

lmao what's even going on in this thread that's making people act a fool like this?

Can't we just talk about how fucking crazy this video is without taking personal snipes and shit? Some of y'all got grudges lol

I don't think I've ever seen anything like that tanker flipping and bursting into flames, that is fucking scary. And that camera guy is a dick, he could have been on 911 the whole time.

Yeah it seemed pretty visible to me. Of course I wasn't driving so maybe I'm wrong but between the huge inferno and it being dark outside making tge inferno even more easily seen from a distance, i would have thought people had advance warning to slow the fuck down.

He called prior to the video and again after it. Why should he stay on 911 and tie it up?

So I'm out...I'm not doing this again...and I'm kind of tired of doing this.

Point blank..I watched the video so idk how and why the hell someone can tell me what I did and did not do #1.

#2... I myself was in shock when I saw that happened but his voice threw me off and just because someone says Jesus Christ does not mean they are showing some type of empathy.

#3 I agree with those who says that people react differently to certain stuff which ummm is exactly why I said I reacted differently to that. I didn't scream yo yo yo at all and to me it didn't sound like he was crying at the end. I couldn't read all of that in the video because I was in shock and it just didn't come across to me like that.

But at the end of the day..I hope the people who got injured in this horrible accident recover and RIP to the victims including the truck driver who obviously didn't make it from the news article that was posted in here about it.

Bye.

No way the authorities wasn't aware that the road was a death sentence. There was someone right next to him on the phone, along with numerous other cars right behind them. I'm sure they called. This is a road safety problem. There was no lights to see anything and ice everywhere. It was a perfect death trap.

Only on neogaf would there be people critizing this guy. What was he to do? Sure he could've called 911 again but other than that he was helpless. Was he supposed to go to the other side of the road in pitch black darkness, risk smoke inhalation, or getting killed by oncoming cars since they wouldn't be able to see him in the dark? He did exactly what everyone here would do in that situation. Stay put and wait for the professional swho are properly equipped to help

Doesn't sound concerning enough, the fuck is that supposed to mean? He just saw a truck explode and someone possibly die,he isn't trying to win an Oscar award.

Me: "This isn't that crazy. You can barely see anyth-HOLY SHIT!"

That seriously looked like something out of a movie. Be safe out there, y'all.

Not only that, it was on the other side of an elevated highway if you look carefully and read the other responses in this thread, so he'd have to walk for ages to go all the way around to cross the gap on top of all that. He couldn't even go to the other side of the road anyway within a reasonable time frame.

2 dead, 11 hurt, 40 vehicles involved.

First off, it's an elevated highway with a gap in the middle, so he can't exactly get over there without jumping across a 4-8 foot gap over a two or three story drop.

Second, you want him to walk, on ice and in the dark, into the middle of the highway with cars and trucks sliding everywhere, towards the tanker truck explosion?

Dude probably could quit filming and try 911 again, but it'd be suicidal to even attempt helping given the conditions. If he even made it across the gap, he'd get picked off by the first sliding car and killed.
Pretty easy to criticize and call others scum from behind a computer screen. Everyone is so quick to judge and dog pile.

Wait, you're comparing his live reaction to your reaction watching it on a video?

Wow that was crazy! Drive safe everyone

Also what is with the hate on the cameraman? He sounded concerned enough to me (why the hell are we judging an obviously shocked dude on his concern level?) And said he had already called 911 before. Guess people don't get the Caribbean accent..

Did anyone see that clip floating around of an out of control bulldozer or something that knocked the pole down and struck a bicyclist? Might have taken place in India...

Shit was insane.

Video shows a horrific accident that led to two people dying and half the people in this thread are focusing on the minute details of how this guy reacted to the explosion in real-time....
