Yeah i was confused too until i went to the crazy box. Double tap D for forward boost, double tap R for reverse boost, and double tap directiona for drift.

I can't seem to be able to get the boosting working at all. You can do frequent ones like on the Arcade and DC version.

So whilst holding Drive, you let go and double tap it?

So finally caught up and so bought. I had to support a version that had the original music. I can deal with the location changes but the music was always the huge hanging point for me.

I have to say it took some work to get it working though. The review that mentions resetting and re-installing helped though. Once I did that it was working. I'm actually surprised at how damn well it controls on my iPhone considering the fact that it's an iPhone and not a controller. Needless to say damn glad I spent the 5 bucks. Now if only they'd release an updated version on consoles that was as well done as this port was.

The original music being on the iOS version is such a big deal. How did that come about, and how can we get this on the XBLA/PSN/PC versions? Hopefully someone that knows is looking at this. The music is such a big deal.

For the 360 version, if you own the songs you can just stick them in the custom soundtrack. It's not the same but it works for me.

I feel like they re-tuned the initial time you get when you pick up a customer so that it's lower than before. My score for original/arcade rules is only $6500 and that ranks me #6 for all time. It should be much higher than that and the top 10 should be much higher. Although it's harder to control on this platform (something is screwy with the crazy drift, esp crazy drift/stop) I don't feel like I should be running out of time this quickly. Other than that, I'm happy to be buying this game for the 3rd time.

Can you not boost in this version? Didn't you set it off by slamming drive and the gas at the same time? Sliding isn't working like I remember, either..

Edit: Okay, I guess double tapping drive is gas (though finnicky), but how do you drift? Edit edit: Okay, double tapping left or right. This will take getting used to.

Woot! 4th place on the leader boards now. :) Still feel its been rebalanced though, but I'm starting to feel it more now.

Good to see they took out that dude who got $21 million xD

The product placement isn't in the iOS version is it? Anyway, it would be great if they could re-patch the original music into the other versions.

At the very least I hope someone is working on a mod for the PC version to get all that stuff back in.

Yeah, KFC is Fried Chicken Shack and other generic names.

Im meh about this game, but will buy as many copies as I can if it convinces Sega to port either Jet Grind Radio
or Shenmue
to iOS.

Im part of the problem.

This game can only be experienced in an arcade. I found a machine over the summer and could only get $90,000, my high score is $109,000 I think I was pretty close the the world record.

Got any tips? I barely reach $5,000.
Aside from limit cutting as much as possible, I try to go for long distance customers, especially the ones that make you cross the freeway. Of course, positioning yourself to quickly get another customer when dropping one off is key to cutting down wasted time. Also, try to memorize where certain customers are so you can maximize your route travels.

owadays they've stopped hiring cheap studios who don't really care about the original product (like Backbone) and putting some effort in, maybe because criticism has influenced them.

Kind of not really. The Jet Set Radio HD port WAS done by a group (Blit) who actively attempted to restore the game to its glory and actually had to rebuild a bunch of stuff too. That and M2 were awesome things to do.

Sonic Adventure 2 and NiGHTS, despite being better than the previous, earlier Dreamcast ports, were still ported by Sega Shanghai. It's just seems that this time around the American producers have a bit more say, and a slightly larger budget that allows them to make the changes and set the achievement lists up nicer.

There's still some jank in there -- NiGHTS controls a bit funky, SA2 has letterboxed cutscenes later in the game due to it having full screen overlays in them, which if they had an artist and time it would have been solved, and NiGHTS also continues to have local leaderboards at the end of the level, when it would have been much nicer to integrate friends leaderboards directly in there.

But yeah, same guys, but with some extra crash.

If it weren't for all these re-releases, we probably never would've realized just how dumb (and even boring) Crazy Taxi has always been

This is only true because CT 3 has everything from the last two in a nice big insanely fun package.

So an update to this came out today. It has iPhone 5 resolution support now, and it's SMOOTH AS BUTTER! Must bave lifted the max frames cap on a 5, because it is gorgeous!!
