Creamy or Chrunchy Peanut Butter.

That reminds me, from what I've seen in pictures and on TV, it seems American peanut butter is way more sloppy and runny than what I'm used to in NZ/UK. Is it really that different?

I don't think so. What brands do you buy?
Do you have Skippy and Jif over there?

Jif the cleaning product? Yes.

i used to be a crunchy man, but eventually i got sick of the bits getting stuck between my teeth. i enjoy smooth now.

Creamy. You all who want to taste gravel with your peanut butter, go right ahead. I want my spread to be creamy. When I want nuts to chew, I eat nuts.

edit: Wait shan which do you like

I don't mind peanut butter actually, but unlike Americans, I do feel there is a limit to its usage. This limit is completely nonexistent in the US.

I tried..many, many times, but I could never love peanut butter. Tried many versions...no avail.

Forgive me peanut butter gaf :"(

Creamy because there's something delicious eating them, like some filling, and I love creamy stuff <3

i also like their chocolate spread but i have since started making my own ganache which i now use as a spread.

this one comes in whipped smooth or whipped crunchy.

Do not get the poor kraft version which is still basically smooth peanut butter, doesn't even have a reall proper whipped consistency . I only seem to find it in Japan for now. You can order them online, so no need to pack so much in your luggage going home.

I will be honest, I still have all three versions of smooth crunchy and whipped at home. I will even eat the crappy kraft version if i run out of the other brands :'(

Is this the beginning of the next Great GAF War?

Won't be much of a war. Creamy-Gaf is soft and weak, Crunchy-Gaf knows they are supreme and will destroy them. Creamy PB is for children.

And people who put their PB in the fridge should be executed as war criminals. Why would you do that?!

This thread has surprised me. I suspect that across the pond, this so called 'creamy' peanut butter has different ingredients/additives compared to crunchy, otherwise there wouldn't be so much passion for one or the other. (Then again, this is neogaf)

But in the UK, last time I checked, our 'smooth' and 'crunchy' peanut butters were made from 100% peanut. Nothing else. So the smooth one is simply grinded more. This is why I have no strong feelings either way. I usually get crunchy just for some texture, but in terms of taste they are identical.

US GAF, does your 'creamy' peanut butter have fake cream in it or something?

All Natural needs to be refrigerated otherwise it just turns into a runny mess with the oil not being mixed.

As for this war.. Creamy-GAF will be spread evenly over the battlefield, while Crunchy-GAF will have strong pockets in places, but spread too thin to win the war! HA!
Yes I am laughing at my own clever analogy

All Natural Peanut Butter! I'm not a fan of crunchy :p

I ate peanut butter only once as a kid. I thought it was going to be all sweet and delicous like nutella, it wasn't sweet and I felt betrayed. Never tried it afterwards :D

I prefer crunchy, but as long as it's just peanuts (no oil or sugar or other crap) I'm good. I usually stick (!) with the Whole Foods 365 Brand.

Used to like crunchy but then got sick of shards of peanuts in my mouth.
Smooth and creamy is the way to go, especially the homemade stuff!

I tried that white chocolate peanut butter and it was overly sugary sweet. It's probably better to buy white chocolate chips and add them yourself. Also, white chocolate chips would probably be "crunchier" instead of being as creamy as the white chocolate chips in that white choc wonder.

I used to buy half creamy and half crunchy when I went out and bought peanut butter, but I've come to the conclusion that if I really wanted crunch, crunchy peanut butter is really half-assing it, and it's better to eat honey roasted peanuts.

Confession time.

I go through about 2 jars of crunchy a week. It's addictive stuff.

I must be in the minority i fucking hate the stuff even the smell of it makes me want to puke, i don't mind peanuts though which is strange.

Creamy Almond Butter lately for me, Whole Food brand, soooo good. I used to be a crunchy guy, eventually switched over, but I love both.
