Creepiest bosses in games that aren't survival horror.

the last boss in Super R-Type which was a giant uterus
dark falz in pso was pretty creepy too since he sorta pops up at a gravesite
a lot of nes and snes games has some weird ass bosses

Came in thinking Nightmare from Metroid Fusion/Other M. Is that what inspired the thread, OP?

Though Fusion does have a bit of a horror element to it, in my opinion...pretty tense game sometimes.

Nightmare was pretty scary when I was a kid.

Sorry folks! I hit enter a bit too quick on accident and didn't get to finish my post until now, enjoy my personal list!

Imago still haunts my dreams.

Manus from Dark Souls. You fight your way to the bottom of a creepy ass dungeon and your reward is some insane demon with a horrifying boss soundtrack.

Ocarina of time is made for this thread

Im pretty sure that the spiders in that game are the reason for my arachnophobia.

And those monsters that hump you when you are an adult suck too

Mainly, but Fusion in general has a lot of creepy bosses/moments. Hell I mainly made this thread to tout my fear of Imago from Zero Mission. IMO 2D Metroid games have way more creepy bosses than all the 3D Metroids combined.

I like the list MRMR, would have put Draygon a big higher myself. Damn hes creepy to even look at.
I read on Metroid Wikia his design incorporates skulls into his head.

I guess OP wants to post Nightmare from Metroid Fusion.

The first time I played Ecco the Dolphin was on my Sega CD way back in the game. Ecco was one of those games that looked so deceivingly light heated under water adventure game, but it ended up being god damn freaky at times. I never really had a chance to hear the music for the Genesis version, but the Sega CD Ecco had some pretty haunting ambient tracks.

Lady Comstock from Bioshock Infinite... the creepy humming to the classical music added to the horror for me.

Demons / Dark Souls might not be traditional survival horrors like Resident Evil, but survivalism is still a massively important component of the game design, and art draws a lot from gothic horror. I'm not sure they're what the op is looking for.

She doesn't fight you, she just talks to you as you kill her, leaving you filled with guilt.

I thought that
Dave
from The Last Of Us was a fucking creep - if you've played the game you know which section I mean

So you're enjoying Donkey Kong 64 as a kid and then you see this fucker and are traumatized for the next six years. I guess it's not scary, persay, but Mad Jack is pretty unsettling.

Even though it doesn't necessarily have a "boss" Heart of Darkness, how this game got an E rating I will never know, couldn't finish it though due to WAY too much trial and error gameplay.

Theirs something about the amount of polygons in these 5th generation games that scare me a lot and I don't know why.

Has Heart of Darkness been mentioned yet.

EDIT: Obviously yes ;)
