Jesus. I should not have clicked on that flash game in this thread. I went so far as to get some key from a sink after going through a bedroom where the bed's got blood all over it and the bathtub is filled with blood as well but then I had to shut it off :(

Dammit, after that intro I'm barely in the house in the woods yet and I'm starting to get freaked out....by a flash game of all things no less!!!

That area wasn't that bad, until you got to the second half. I made it through the first part of Ravenholme with my sanity in tact. I mean, it was relatively normal, and I have braved worse crap in other horror games. When I got to the second part, I went from a hardass to pussy. The zombies jumping off of ****ing rooftops and sprinting, caused me to run through that entire segment, without stopping. I held down the sprint button whenever I could.:lol When I got the shotgun, I regained some of my manliness back, but, I sure as hell didn't stop running. lol

Yes, hence why I didn't stop to take any screenshots!

..but seriously when I was a kid, the huge eel in super mario 64 freaked me out. Wasn't scarred by anything else... that eel was just creepy.

Me too, man.

Shadows of the Empire for 64 had the dianoga boss that was creepy as hell.

Clock Tower (original) - It didn't scare me as much as it was just really damn creepy, I was more on edge just walking around, at least when that scissor bastard was chasing me I knew he couldn't jump out at me. It's amazing that this thing is so moody for an SNES game.

REmake - Very moody. Any strange noise and I'd panic. Crimsons scared the piss out of me more than once, so much so that when I entered every room I readied my grenade launcher. One time I got blindsided by one and had to turn the game off because it shook me up so much. Also, Lisa Trevor when she came into the house. Even though I knew it would happen I was freaking out.

Doom - I used to be afraid of the Cyber demon, the thumping sound and growl creeped me out. Not so much anymore.

Half-Life - The part with the crates and those chicks with black suits. The first thing you hear is these rapid footsteps and a small black object go whizzing by in the distance. Then you're getting shot at from all sides.

The continue screens in two Tecmo arcade games: Ninja Gaiden and Tecmo Knight. I had nightmares about those when I was a kid.

In fact, they might have already been mentioned, but I didn't look through the thread for fear of seeing pictures.

I didn't even make it through the front door of that flash game before I decided I wanted to sleep peacefully tonight.

System Shock 2 wins creepy award for me. The way that game created an immersive, unpleasant atmosphere was great. I always loved and hated when ghosts came out of nowhere to relay more evidence about what happened aboard the ship.

I am completely drawn to creepy videogames and then I don't know why I bother when I play them in the dark with the sound up :lol

But seriously... That flash game is pretty creepy.

The ****in spiders in RE1. They actually bothered me in real life, no bullshit. The funny thing is real spiders don't bother me at all. Just the size of those things and the way they would run at you....

....now, I'm scared

It's sort of hard for me to play scary PC FPS's like Doom 3 or System Shock 2 cause when an enemy surprises me I spaz the **** out and end up looking at the ceiling while getting hit. Basically it takes me about 2-4 seconds to actually target an enemy after seeing them cause my mouse is going all over the place.

Oh shit! I remember that now! He made some freaky sounds. That boss was tough too, especially on Jedi Mode. I beat everything (and collected every challenge point) on Jedi Mode except for the damn Gladiator Droid. I was so close!

Yeah, another one I don't think has been mentioned is the Sylvan Cave in Final Fantasy IV. It's got that mournful music and at the very end of the cave is that little cabin with the sylphs and Yang in it. I don't know, for some reason that gave me the chills when I was a kid.

I got as far as the kitchen and then closed the game, need daylight before going back.

The first time i saw a tarantula crawling on the roof in resident evil 1. Jesus christ that scared me. I screamed like a little girl at that moment :lol .

Uninvited was unsettling at times.
Silent Hill 4 was the only SH I've played, but their warped take on a seemingly normal reality is worth commending. Being locked in a room, able to see the outside, but unable to interact with it.
Condemned of course; the department store ftw, but the old house gets my pick
knowing I had to go down in that basement was not fun
Fatal Frame II had a lot of moments as well.

I quit playing Thief: DS before I hit the Cradle, this thread has inspired me to go back.

Lisa Trevor's Cabin in Resident Evil GCN was really creepy.

And the caves part
OH GOD!

I can hear her now

Agreed. I'm playing through REmake for the first time and I just got to that part.

By the way, lots of you are mentioning the Redeads from OOT.
How'd you feel about the WW ones?

QFT!

However, I'd say:
- almost EVERY scene from EVERY Silent Hill
- the massacre made by the cyborg ninja in MGS1 (PSone version)
- the market town in Zelda OOT infested by zombies

WTF are you talking about?

Anyway, I nominate the library in Thief 2: The Metal Age.
True, it's the only part that can match the first one in atmosphere, although it's also the one with the best missions.

No appreciation for Call of Cthulu : Dark Corners of the Earth?

I thought it was just plain creepy all the way through, perfectly reflecting the Cthulu mythos.

Underrated!

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, where Nemesis jumps through a window and attacks you. Complete shit-your-pants moment.

Max Payne 1 had some ****ing creepy parts (where you had to walk the trail of blood in that dream sequence, and were basically platforming your way out).

Resident Evil 4: The first time you get your head chainsawed off. **** that shit.

how this thread made it that far without mention of this is beyond me. the Max Payne sequences were too damn trippy for their own good. the blood-trail level (likewtfsrsly?) and the "elongated-view" hallway run with the rubberducks or whatever on the wall from your baby's room was just like.....NORLLYWTFSRSLY?!

There was one part, very early on in the first Silent Hill on the PSOne, you venture down an alleyway and the camera is sat high up, looking down at you, from a wall. As you move around the alley the camera moves... like you're looking through the eyes of something stalking you.

Power off.

Cry.

Friday the 13th was creepy all around, I was affraid of this game.

The moment in SH2, when you go to the attic, and when you're about to leave small girl is laughing at you, that freaked me out.
