Creepy Moments in Gaming

Link to the Past.

- Theives waiting to chase you in The Lost Woods.

- The two boys stuck in the Dark World.

- Learning that Zelda was just kidnapped again.

- Blind (Scared the hell out of me)

- Outcast Village

- The flute boy

- Pretty much everything in the Dark World.

That was the first game I played that had so much atmosphere and cinematics, the NES Zeldas didn't compare....it managed to creep me out a lot.

MM2 is one of my favorite games of all time, but beyond sentimental value... with all due respect, wtf are you talking about? :lol

I don't know about "surprising level of emotion" but I can sort of see what he means in regards to that specific portion of the game. Cutting out the music and having it devoid of any real enemies, and knowing that this is right before the final boss gives it an unexpected dose of seriousness (though I wouldn't go so far as to call it "creepy").

On the subject of unexpectedly creepy moments in videogames, I present Giygas from Earthbound

Hmm, I just remembered one game that I got creeped out by. It was for the Amiga and was called "Elvira: Mistress of the Dark". Now, hehe, before you laugh, from what I remember anyway, this game had pretty much nothing to do with the movie or anything like that. You were trapped in a castle with Elvira with a bunch of zombie soldiers, demons, skeletons and the like and had to use magic and other weapons to try and escape.

I wonder if anyone else remembers this game?
