Nice! This went from no buy to buy for me. Thanks for the info

the steampunk/mecha stuff going on was a surprice in the medieval/magic/fantasy setting. Interesting. ALSO: Fuck you capcom and your half backed DD2. Not going to buy another game full price never again.

I'm skeptical given the atrocity Black Desert's "story" is. I also would like to know more about the character progression. Is there an ability to choose different classes or fighting styles?

This will be a wait for other folks to buy it before I do kinda situation most likely for me.

I don't expect it to be polished or cerebral at all, but the sheer spectacle is pulling me in. This like a Michael Bay fantasy game.
Mm... Whilst the Michael Bay comparison is obvious to see from trailers such as this, I hope it doesn't get lost amongst the more subtle moments that will be inherent within the game. Remember this is a title where you can also cook, mine, craft, herd, solve puzzles, etc. And the bespoke engine from Pearl Abyss allows for some cool experimentation.

Ice arrows turn into blocks of ice when connecting with water...

The "spectacle" of this game is palpable, yes. I just hope when it finally releases that the "living world" that the developers promise, sits well alongside the more obvious bells & whistles (and pyrotechnics) that are clear to see.

I thought this was running on Unreal, had to google what engine they're using. Thankfully, it is not. Finally, an interesting looking game not running ueslop. I wholeheartedly support devs who still develop their own proprietary engine and not relying on Unreal to speed up development just to see the consumer suffer from horrible performance and other fuckery.

This looks like it could be a good showcase as a PC game, but I'm currently unsure as to how good the actual full game will be, particularly on console. I'm really intrigued to see some reviews nearer release.

Looks really good, if it gets praised by some youtubers/reviewers i trust and it's cheap enough in some key site i might get it.

It's sponsored by AMD

Terrible IQ for everyone incoming unless you can brutforce the game.
AMD should just stop sponsoring games. Have any of their sponsored games featured good tech? It's almost invariably trash.

Indeed this is a big red flag to me. And no, I can't think of a single game sponsored by AMD that looked & performed well. Maybe Space Marine II but that's it.
It's crazy to look at this list and realize that some of the worst gaming performances come from games sponsored by AMD. WTF are they doing?

The game will support DLSS4, so image quality concerns are unwarranted. At least on PC.
That's for image reconstruction. I'm more worried about the RT aspect and how much noise there is. AMD is know to have shitty tools.
Wait and see I guess, but DF in the video posted earlier did say it was very noisy.

PS5 pre-order exclusive items, the Grotevant Plate Set (Helm, Armor, Cloak, Gloves, Boots)

Wtf is this joke ?
Who the fuck in marketing decided that shit ?
Why the middle finger to PC ?

I know some people will say "it's just a skin whatever", i don't agree.
This is pure bs.

I don't think this is new in the industry. Plenty of console based exclusive pre-order items have happened before. Though I'm with ya it's kind of shitty.

I Remember Soul Calibur 2. Guest characters were initially locked behind a specific Console. Link was exclusive to the GameCube and Spawn was for Xbox.
