Cristiano Ronaldo pushes ref, banned for five games even though ref doesn't dive

Thread reads like satire.

Oh.

Just imagine a kid slightly shoving another kid. How will Ronaldo ever sleep again?

You don't touch the ref or complain about getting a card, that's basic sportmanship. Had he actually hurt the ref, he would probably have been banned for a whole season. Like, you get a red card and three matches off if you make a potentially dangerous tackle, but if you actually break someone's leg your season's done for. Punishments are hard so nobody in their mind would dare to try to push the boundaries of what is acceptable.

This is turning needlessly hostile. Please keep it on topic of the current incident.

Irony not hostility, that you needlessly placed upon yourself by claiming in the op and title before the change that Ronaldo attacked the ref.

Getting 5 games for a slight push on a Barcelona player seems kind of excessive. Guess you gotta keep the GOAT down however you can though.

Definitely should get punished for the push, HOWEVER the original yellow card for diving was excessive. It wasn't a penalty, but it was hardly a dive either.

It's a miracle the ref is even alive right now.

I wish him a speedy recovery for all the serious injuries he must've sustained in this vile attack by Ronaldo.

Honestly touching the ref in any sport should lead to an automatic ejection and then lengthy ban.

As a player you have no right to be that close to a ref.
