Not really liking "Affection" honestly.

All the other tracks released so far are sounding hot though.

The vinyl was pushed back to December 4th. When I looked at the email I thought the album was going to be pushed back again. I'll have to get a digital copy next week.

I actually learned of Crystal Castles FROM Neogaf way back in 2010. Courtship Dating was the song and I've been a fan ever since. Still have not seen them live.

Yup unfortunately :(. I will end up just getting the CD for now and vinyl later if I really really like the album.

Some stores seem like they may sell the CD closer to the original release date too, so we'll see this week. Empik specifically seems to be selling this tomorrow.

Also LQ song previews for the curious:

Aside from the lyrics I'm getting 2008 vibes from Violent Youth. I like that the 4 tracks that we have heard seem to be pretty varied.

I'll pass on the teasers for now. It will only make the wait harder!

Plague is cool and I love the trappyness of Affection (the best track so far), but I seriously doubt I'll like any other tunes on the album.

Anyone lucky enough to be in the UK, everyone who had the album on pre-order on iTunes have received a notice it's available as of an hour ago! Not sure what happened there..

Some people are saying Brazil is the same as well.. I'd check your itunes store just in case, unless you're in US/Canada.

I never had a problem not previewing anything before the album hits.. but Crystal Castles are my second music love... I could barely hold out any longer.

Plague is slaying me so far, I'm in such a happy place right now. Loving the bass.

They really emphasized the bass this time around in comparison to the last two albums. That's the only thing I found was lacking on the previous albums. There were less tracks that instantly grabbed me like on (II), but on the flip-side I like every single track except one.
I love the bleaker more distorted direction. (II) grew on me a lot even though I initially loved it too, so I feel pretty strongly about this one. Already like it better on my second listen. I've never liked every song on an album in my life, but this was close to being the first until the last track...
Child I will Hurt You is pretty, but just doesn't do anything for me. The last track on each of their albums so far have always for whatever reason been my most hated. I like it way better than Tell me what to swallow and I am made of chalk at least.

<3 Plague, Pale Flesh, Insulin, Transgender, Mercenary <3

EDIT: <3 Loving Kerosene, Violent Youth and Affection now too... oh god I love this album

Alright, listened through the whole album on Spotify just now. Much better than I anticipated, but outside of a couple of tunes, it's not really my style.

Plague <3<3
Kerosene <3<3
Affection <3<3<3

Insulin MINDFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
<3

^ On U.S. iTunes too, they rushed out the release on iTunes across the world because of Polydor (UK)'s mess-up. Available in most countries now. :)

I don't know what it is about their music that draws me in so much. Definitely the best thing 4chan has ever introduced me to.

Managed a couple of listens so far; it's not hitting the same immediately gratifying highs that (II) did, but it's definitely growing on me. They've gone practically full blown witch house, albeit quite uptempo.

Loving the mood on this. Need to light a couple spiffs up and zone out for fourty minutes.

I heard this once earlier today, and didn't like it much at all. I don't want to say too much after only one listen, but it seems like they tried to make noisy synth-pop songs with as little melody as possible.

Really dislike Pale Flesh and Insulin, but otherwise I'm pretty pleased. Kerosene, Transgender, Wrath of God, and Violent Youth are all really fucking great.

This didn't do much for me at all on first list. Plague, Kerosene, and Child I Will Hurt You are all that I remember tbh.

This album is inarguably orders of magnitude better than (II). Quite possibly the best Crystal Castles album yet, keeps getting better on repeat listens.

Infinitely better than Grimes' Visions, that's for sure.

I have to disagree with that. Visions was bloated, but it's defintely better than this.

(III) isn't immune to good songs, "Sad Eyes" is a great gothy pop song and my favorite on the album, and there are two other tracks that weren't so bad. For the most part though, the album is filled with noisy, seemingly possessed songs that have some pretty eerie sounds(which I like) ,but are ultimately forgettable. I don't feel the need to hear this album again.

I don't like you guys comparing Grimes and Crystal Castles. Grimes has only been around for 2-3 years, while CC has been around for 7-8. I think Visions is as good of a release as the first CC album

Just like to say thanks to Kitchenmotors I got really into Crystal castles. LOVING this album though.

Plague,Affection,Kerosene,Pale Flesh and Transgender give me LIFE right now.

Oddly most people even on the official CC forums seem to really dislike Sad Eyes . I don't see many people stanning for this song even in this thread. It's the only song I haven't fell in love with it on this album.. Seems like it was a bad choice as a single.

Great seeing Kerosene, Plague, Transgender getting a lot of love!
