Cursed Game

I've been an Xbox user since the original Xbox. I've owned the OG Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, and now an Xbox Series S.

Over the years, quirks are bound to show up — especially with features like backwards compatibility.

One real oddity is my digital copy of XCOM: Enemy Unknown (Xbox 360).

I can't find any evidence of when I purchased the game. Xbox purchase history (on the Microsoft website) only goes back 7 years, and my email shows no record either.

So even though I apparently own this game digitally, it doesn't show up in my library on the Xbox Series S. I can rebuy it at full price though.

But when I connect my old Xbox One X, lo and behold — there's the digital game, fully installable and playable.

Yesterday I installed it and started playing. It runs fine on the Xbox One X, so it wasn't really a problem for me.

To add to the mystery, when I tried to stream the gameplay to Twitch, the game refused and showed this message: "This game doesn't allow live streaming."

Any idea what the heck is going on here? Anyone else have cursed games?

Did you unregister the console from your account and make the series s your new home console?
Yes, I had removed the XSX from my devices.

My XSS was not set as my 'home console'. I made sure to set it as such.

I then booted up the Xbox One X, and made sure it wasn't marked as my 'home console', which it wasn't.

I then booted up the XSS again, yet XCOM: Enemy Unknown (Xbox 360) is still the same as described in the OP.

However, it still runs on my Xbox One X, even though it is not my 'home console'.

I have not, due to a security breach a few months ago, I don't really do apps, or connect too many services.

Thanks for the help though. I guess we have to conclude, that the game is indeed cursed.

My very last guess, is that XCOM: Enemy Unknown could have been some sort of review code provided by Microsoft for a review. That would explain the 'streaming not allowed' thing. (I still don't see any evidence of this in my email.)
