Cyberpunk 2077 - fix AMD CPU usage

Is this you first week playing video games?

And judging by how fast patches are coming this will probably be fixed soon.

So I think it looks like this:

3300X users should benefit from this GREATLY
1600/1700/2600/2700/3600/3700X/ - performance should be better
5600X/5800X - probably the biggest gain
5900X/5950X - same as 3700X
3900X/3950X - worse or better performance depending on the scene, PROBABLY

I think high core users (3900 etc.) should probably disable SMT and see what happens

is there a reason this does nothing on my 5900x?

With 12 cores game is probably near maxing out this CPU already

i see-my cpu usage does seem low using RTTS hud-would disabling SMT help at all?

With this fix you should see all threads being utilized. This doesn't mean you would get better performance, this game is already targeting physical cores anyway and with 12 5900x should brute force trough it

Tried on a 5600x, it increased usage of some threads, but made no difference to fps (probably because it's GPU limited). It also introduced some slowdown if I change some settings and go back to the game, so I reverted back to the original version.

Update on my situation:

I had the same problem as you, so I just reverted the .exe file back to the original, but I'm still getting massive slow down after tabbing out and back in...

It seems as though it's creating another instance of the game window, because I can't display my AMD performance overlay over it, after tabbing back in.

This is was mistake...

EDIT: Further update...

Seem to have fixed the issues.

I permanently deleted the edited .exe file and restarted my system. Now I currently not experiencing the slow down, when tabbing.

FINAL UPDATE: Completely disregard the above info. It is incorrect. Infact the AMD performance overlay is what's causing the slow down. It was tabbing perfectly fine, until I activated the overlay. I then turned it off and performance returned to normal.
What a headache, but I'm happy to have been part of the testing. :^P

Wizardry.

Used to get 70-80fps driving around with stutters and now get around 90~.

This was on a 5800x using DLSS on Balanced with mostly everything on high at 1440p.

I have a i7-9700k and the only time my fps dips below 65-70 is when driving through the city and it's gotten as low as 38fps, I'm also using a rtx 3090 which makes it disheartening to see.
