Lots of options so maybe best to share some of your findings until Alex from digital foundry enlightens us with his take.

Pc specs, resolution, fps, ssd etc will be definitely useful plus a range of environmental factors will cause changes.

I'm trying everything highest apart from psycho setting at 4k ultra performance on a 9700k 2080ti 32gig ram m.2 ssd. Lg C9 so gsync too.

60fps on the parts I've tried but need more play time to test the environment factor.

I have no idea what RTX and DLSS settings I should choose... feeling a bit overwhelmed. Currently running a 3080 FE with Ultra settings + DLSS medium + ray tracing medium and getting 45 fps in 4k.

This game is absolute stunning though.

Finally! By the way, I did add driver-level FXAA and a bit of sharpening to smooth some edges DLSS isn't able to pick up, plus to reduce the bluriness a little bit as its a bit too much for my tastes.

Downloading now. I've got a 3900X, 2080TI, 64 GBs of DRR4 and an M2 drive. I'll be running 21:9/3440 x 1440.

VERY pleasantly surprised at my performance. After seeing Digital Foundry's video I decided to settle on RT ultra preset at 30fps.
I have it on the setting before RT ultra preset and getting 50-60 fps at 1440p. Been playing for an hour so far, Corpo life.
I'm sure I'll get taxed as I get further into the game and I'll tweak as needed but right now, I'm good considering I was willing to go with a 30fps lock.

My 2070 super has some gas left I see!

2070 Super, i7 7700k, 32gb memory.

Curious about performance with a 2070Super and a i78000/9000 series CPU. I'm guessing I'd be getting around 1080p/60 on Ultra with little else enabled (no or very light RT, etc), but an unstable 60.

Edit: Basically answered above me. Good timing.

Turned of film grain and chromatic aberration immediately.
Playing with a 2070 super, Ryzen 7 3700x, 16 gigs of ram, and the game store on m.2 drive. Really good performance so far on in 1080p.

You think if you turned off RT or turned it down you'd be above 60FPS the entire time? And you said your other settings are on Ultra as well?

i7 9700KF
RTX 2070 Super, with latest nVidia driver installed
32Gb RAM 3600MHz
SSD WD SN750
1080p 60fps

Game opened with every setting turned to Ultra, including RayTracing, and DLSS on Automatic. Basically running locked 60fps, with rare dips to 50~55fps. Turned off RT, now it's smooth locked 60fps.
Game runs great, extremely happy with the performance!

surprised I'm getting 40-60fps on ultra RT on my 2070/ryzen 3600/16gb mem with dlss (performance). I can clean up some edges and bluriness in nvidia control panel and it looks good. I feel like the priority should be the raytracing if you have a turing card as even on ultra without RT it looks surprisingly rough. Hoping to hear more about which graphical settings can be safely reduced as its all trial and error atm and some things look better depending on where you are in the game

Gonna repeat what I posted into Ot since this thread wasn't up :)

3900x, 3080, 32GB of well overclocked ram

1440p - Ultra preset for quality with RT at Ultra - was over 40 fps in office or club , after enabling DLSS at Quality it jumped to over 70 fps and stayed that way

Game is pushing my gpu harder than anything else i have thrown at my 3080 before. I have like 600-700 rpm more on the fans then in Q2 rtx or looped Bright Memory Infinite benchmarks which are considered heavy.

Just by the replies it does not appear to be that bad at performance once dialed in.

I had lots of fears but providing you dont do native 4k, 60fps is definitely achievable.

i7 6700k
16 GB of RAM
GTX 1070 SLI (not supported, running just on one 1070)
Windows 10 on SSD
Game installed on another SSD
Running all settings on medium, 1080p, getting 45-70 fps. Thanks to Gsync it is very smooth.

The only setting I looked at and disabled from the preset was film grain. Other than that the preset was unchanged.
I went to the RT ultra preset to test out performance and it basically halved my frame rate. I assume that disabling RT all together would easily take me past 60 and be stable. I just went to work and can't test it to be sure.
DLSS (auto) is enabled for all of my testing btw.

my specs:

9900K, 32GB, RTX 2080, 1440p 144hz Monitor (running at 60hz). most of the settings are on High and I have DLSS to balanced. The game looks fantastic and i haven't noticed any major frame drops but of course GSYNC will be at work if it goes between 40-60fps. if it has dropped then i haven't felt it. i'll wait until i get to explore the city and see if i can turn some stuff up or maybe even put RTX on.

Running a 3800X, RTX3080, and 16GB of RAM (playing off an SN750 NVMe), and with everything maxed out at 1440p, starting as a Street Kid, I'm getting 55-65 FPS with DLSS set to balanced.

i7-6700k, RTX3080, 16GB of Ram, have everything maxed 4k Ultra RTX and DLSS at performance mode, getting around 50-60 fps. I compared balanced vs performance, but can barely tell the difference, so went with performance.

Fascinated how meh DLSS is. First game I have worked with the DLSS settings and while FPS is increasing the visual downgrades are noticeable.

Anyone getting random flickering even though fps is holding steady? Going into a menu and backing it fixes it but it's odd.

Also I'm doing training and the skin is going through the glove textures which is unfortunate.

i7 4790k @ 4.5
rtx 2070 super
16GB ddr3 1600 ram
1tb ssd

getting between 45-80 depending on location. For most parts it's a constant 55-60 fps.

Happened to me once for a few seconds, but it stopped on it's own.

2600k @ 5ghz,16gb ram + 2080ti.
I'm playing on all ultra/psycho with RT on at 1080p with vsync on.
It feels amazing tbh but I get hit with a little slowdown while driving around in certain conditions but it's mostly at 60fps.
Not seen any crazy bugs yet but the pop in is bad. Seen a few cars just *poof* in.

should have mentioned 1440p

Still really early. Game is stunning. Tried it on Ultra and couldn't hold 60fps @ 1440p. Turned things down to Medium and ... the game was still completely stunning and I could hold 60fps at 1440p and I'm sure I could up some of those setting to High. Just playing around quick and dirty so far.

I'm sure there's differences but I haven't had enough time to examine things closely.

I'm goin back in!

Playing at 1080p with a mix of high and medium. The only other game I've had to play on 1080p was Control. Despite the low resolution I'm getting 40-60 and it's one of the best looking games I've played. Don't have much 4k native content to compare to, but the fidelity in as good or better than the stuff I usually play in 1440p or 4k .6 scaled.

No crashes or hiccups, so that's good so far.

Anyone know what setting yield the most perf gains? I dabbled with a few and didn't get much, so I dialed most back to high.

Game is pretty smooth! Running native 1440p with all settings on High/Ultra (pretty much max, except for those with a Psycho setting) including ray tracing and getting a solid 60fps.

*change LOD to medium

1080p/60

Definitely some dips though. I feel bad for people with say, a 1060 or some shit. Game must be running like trash.

If people are having an issue like me and countless others with binding keys and the game not allowing it, you will need to manually edit the UserSetting.json file. CDPR is being really stupid not letting you bind certain keys like UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW.

9900k/3080
3440x1440 144Hz Ultrawide.
Everything maxed out, except the two "Psycho" settings, which are set to Ultra. DLSS set to Quality.
Getting mostly 60-70 FPS. Not the greatest, but it's playable.

Thanks for your settings.
I've only changed LOD to medium because low gave me some disgusting low res billboards on moderate viewing distance.

Raytracing is off and only got a couple of setting at medium(the rest are at ultra/high), I'm getting between 80-100fps at 1080p. Pretty pleased. Now time to dive back in.

Launched my game. Paused it for about 10 minutes to go grab my pizza. Game back and I couldn't do anything. Totally frozen. Before I could even alt+tab, my PC randomly restarts.

Hmmm....

Same experience here except I turned off Film grain and CA (it looks better IMO)

And surprisingly the graphics is amazing and the performance is fluid . It's far cry (heh) from WD:Legions which runs and looks worse , this is how you optimize a game Ubisoft

Even though I said I won't launch the game until I'm done with AC:V and being busy with work I still decided to create a character and just do the first couple of minutes to see how it performs.

Everything cranked up to the highest settings with DLSS at quality and all RT settings at ultra+psycho at 2560x1080, it runs at 40-55fps, putting DLSS to performance puts it at 75fps, and auto sets it around 50fps. Really surprised again, dlss continues to be black magic. Have a 3070 on the way hopefully so fingers crossed that I'll be able to lock 60fps.

2080ti I9 9900k NVME running 1440p ultra ray tracing I'm getting 55-75 FPS

In the middle of the city, crowd density maxed out, getting 68-70fps. NICE

So I'm playing on a Zephyrus Ultra Slim laptop, a GX531GX.

Specs:

i7 9750H
16GB DDR4 2666mhz
2080 max-Q 90w

Everything is maxed out except for Psycho settings set to Ultra instead. RT settings set to ultra too. DLSS set to performance. Resolution is 2650x1440. Playing on a LG CX with HDR and G-Sync enabled.

Game is running anywhere between 30 and 50fps. With a game looking this good, I really don't mind it and the VRR on the CX makes everything really smooth. Super happy about the performance of my laptop. Much better than I expected.

I'm surprised by how well my 2080TI is doing. playing at 3440x1440 with everything at ultra and my FPS range from the low 40s to mid 60s. Not bad.
