Dad owns daughter on Youtube over disrespectful Facebook post

How do you know he's uneducated? He says he worked in IT and now he's got his own business. Or that he thumps a bible? The guy's holding a cigarette and dressed like a cowboy. Doesn't present himself as the evangelical type to me.
eh his 'get fags off yahoo' profile bit isn't the greatest thing in the world, but it falls outside this discussion and isn't really relevant to this thread.

I'm pretty sure after all the crap we went through together he addressed me as an equal that age. I'm now 18 living at my grandparent's place (mom's side) and attending college. Sure I've alot more to learn, but that sit-down taught me more than what I've learned in the from before that.

it's because you didn't listen when you were much younger. also, let's get back to topic rather than talking about your life because frankly i could care less about your childhood dramaland.

I'm trying to talk about how using guns as discipline is plain stupid, you're bringing back quotes from previous pages that I thought we both resolved but apparently not.

LOL paying your kid to do the chores? you must be kidding me. wake me up when the kid has to pay their parents for feeding them milk every night when they were babies.

Except being paid an allowance for chores also teaches work/reward, and past that can teach money management. It's OK for parents to love their kids, teach them life lessons and never shoot a laptop.

Guns shouldn't be used for punishment unless you got a badge.

lmao he destroyed the laptop, not the kid.

he could've used a teddy bear and the end result is still the same - kid does not have laptop anymore.

next time, put more effort.

Well that was wrong. A child isn't an equal until they've actually matured to the point where you don't have to discipline them - rather, you just give advice. You can be friends with them at that point.

I haven't seen that profile, but if that's true it's just more evidence of him being a shitty person. "get fags off yahoo"....yeah, sounds like a reasonable person who would make a great father.

Anybody got a link or archived pic if it got taken down?

I don't either, but that wasn't the point. the point was that you said he used a keylogger. He didn't.

Assumption based off limited info in the OP's video.

It's also OK for parents to teach their children lessons in other ways. This is the disconnect between that logic: Nobody who is for this kind of discipline tries to say how disgusting it is to do something different, but those against it act as if their way is the only way.

Need to render a laptop non-functional? Gun.
Got something big from Amazon and the box won't fit in the bin? Gun.
Dandelions on the lawn? Gun.
Unwanted documents that contain personal information? Gun.
Ingrown hair? Gun.

Holy shit, you are a moron. Destroying the laptop was the discipline. Just shut the fuck up.

Yes destroying the damn laptop was discipline. How he destroyed it is the issue. I'm perfectly fine with it being thrown in the pool, run over by a truck, or some other way.

Not with a damn firearm. The firearm holds a certain respect to it and using it for discipline when it's not needed and can be accomplished in much simpler and more effective ways diminishes that respect.

Hey, here's a fucking concept: How about you do chores, and YOU GET A ROOF TO LIVE UNDER. That sounds like a good deal to me.

This is the link people are talking about (I think).

Not at all. Based on a link he posted. I'll look for it.

EDIT :::::

Came from his Facebook wall apparently.

Beause he has an accent, wears a cowboy hat, and has a gun. Duh! Plus, a majority of people who live in the south are just dumb christian bible thumpers. That's what gaf tells me anyways.

Not a shitty person - probably just misguided. Probably the way he was taught.

And actually, we hardly know whether he's referring to gay people or not.
South Park.

But are we gonna keep making assumptions about who people are?

I'm not sure if 'disgusting' is the right word. More like 'dumb'.

His actions were childish and exemplified the very behaviour he condemned.

Gun wasn't used as punishment. Destroying the laptop was punishment. You can destroy laptops with a lot more stuff than guns. The gun was a variable. Try again.

Using a gun like that is irresponsible and down right insane in this case. Like you said anything else could do the same thing, except for potentially mame or kill or destroy a person, place, thing, idea, etc. . .

dude, the kid is 15. teaching work/reward to a 15-year-old? are you kidding me? she's like grade 11 and you're using that argument? 15 and you don't know work/reward? rofl.

also, most likely the kid is already getting allowance. you want the parent to give her more allowance on top of her school allowance, laptop, phone, ipod? you're telling me the way to go is to give more money to a kid who refuses to do the most basic of chores?

and those aren't even what i'd call chores. taking plates out of a dishwasher is a chore? i must be dreaming. when i was a kid i had to wash the dishes myself without any electronic appliance to help me. you must be her age or something.

The fact that he hates gay people is pretty telling. Though it makes sense that you relate to that.

On a note, the baby boomer generation, and generations before that did more shit than us during 15 years old and handled it.

stupidest post ever. you shoot a gun in a video game when you can just, you know, stab the guy? now you lost all my respect. you deserve no respect at all.

"How he destroyed it is the issue. I'm perfectly fine with it being thrown in the pool, run over by a truck, or some other way.

holy crap entitlement crap much? you're fine with a non-breathing, non-living laptop to be thrown to a pool yet you take issue with it being destroyed by a gun with hollow rounds? you must be kidding me.

I'm suspicious of that considering he capitalizes everything, but that line isn't written the same way.
LOL dude what is there to be suspicious of? Someone hack his account in the last day or so to make some obscure point? Nevermind that's his capitalization is hit or miss.

The hell you're comparing a real-life firearm to video-game depiction of one?

Have you ever held a firearm, have you ever shot a weapon? The firearm is a tool that demands respect.

Is that even really his page? And it's one stupid interest link. Bit of a stretch to go straight to gay hating, but hey, whatever helps you stereotype him best.

i just read till the 4th page and was fucking anoyed with a lot of you guys, you're all a bunch of wuzzes.

omg the dad used a gun CALL THE ARMY AND TAKE THIS MAN AWAAAAY!

oh shut up for fucks sake, the damn girl deserved that and more, here in mexico she would have gotten the whoopin' of a century

Your opinion on gun respect varies greatly from gun owner to gun owner. Me? I'm more on the side of the dad. If you got it and know how to safely use it in a controlled environment, that's respect enough.

Right, because the whole 'allowance' concept can only start at 15.

also, most likely the kid is already getting allowance. you want the parent to give her more allowance on top of her school allowance, laptop, phone, ipod? you're telling me the way to go is to give more money to a kid who refuses to do the most basic of chores?

Ah, assumptions. I never said anything about how he handles the chores issue. More assumptions

and those aren't even what i'd call chores. taking plates out of a dishwasher is a chore? i must be dreaming. when i was a kid i had to wash the dishes myself without any electronic appliance to help me. you must be her age or something.

Actually I have a kid a couple of years older than her, hence why I don't call people dude, how about you?

You shouldn't take this stuff so personally.

Given daughter's propensity to do shitty things on the computer, all bets are off.

So now, because of the 1 in a billion chance that her daughter hacked his profile, the profile might be fake. This is the sound of occam's razor being ground to nothing along a mile of cement.

Is that even really his page? And it's one stupid interest link. Bit of a stretch to go straight to gay hating, but hey, whatever helps you stereotype him best.
So using that term is okay if it's only once? When does it become not okay to publicly display hateful shit like that? How many uses? 3, 4, 10, 150? Where is the line drawn, oh Prosty.

WHY IN GOD DAMN HELL IS EVERYONE ARGUING ABOUT THE DAMN GUN INSTEAD OF FOCUSING THAT THE SPOILED BRAT WAS THE PROBLEM!?

taking the laptop away and shooting it wsa good, if he had used a bat, would you all be in an uproar about it?

NO, BECAUSE BASEBALL BATS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, RIGHT?!

My personal test would be "could you imagine a police officer doing this while in uniform?"

I'm not sure that going Office Space on it would be that much better, personally.

Is what he's saying based on any real evidence? At the age of 16 he was emancipated, somehow in high school and college at the same time while also a volunteer fireman? I don't believe any of that.
