Dad reenacts all Smash Bros. taunts

Maybe it's because I'm given the impression that the man behind the camera is constantly urging his aging father to do a 'funny thing for Youtube,' or a reminder of my own elders and my own mortality and the video having the same sense of looming dread that going to a retirement community carries.

It's worth noting that just because I feel that way, it doesn't make your impression wrong or anything. I just wanted to explain to you what it stirred in me.

There's a small chance you may be thinking a bit too much about things.

Man, this reminds me i haven't hung out with my own dad in awhile. Think I'll call him up later, see if he wants to reenact all of Jeff Goldblum's parts of the original Jurassic Park trailer while I film.

Wow at these comments. Is it sad because you think they made him do this for the internet views? He seems to have a good time acting silly, I think it's quite endearing.

You really seem like a glass-half-full kinda guy.

Ummmm You need a hug dude...

Some people just can´t have fun, I think.

The video its cool! I am pretty sure that if my dad was more flexible he would agree to do something like this with me, looks fun.

It's just a guy filming his goofy dad...

Wow some of you are literally this guy:

Lmao lighten up.

I can see the headline already given this topic: old man being held against his will to pole dance

He's just having fun.

Hahaha THAT was fun to watch. Just a son and his old ass dad having fun! I was literaly smiling all the time. Haha so silly, thx OP ! All that i needed after a long shitty day at work. =P

Yea, the number of reactions to the negative had me thinking there actually was something wrong with him, but watching the video, he's just having a great old time being a dork.

*Watches a silly video related to video games*

Very funny and entertaining to watch.

But it's a bit sad because It reminds me that my dad is getting older and older and we never did fun stuff like that together. And soon I won't have him anymore and I will be the old one.

I know you've been ganged up on already, but seriously :

That was great. Really cool that his dad is still willing to goof off and do something silly and ridiculous.

That's weird. I guess I could see how people could find it "sad" but it just feels so jarring that I read comments from reddit and youtube and they're all just optimistic and enthusiastic. Then I come here and am hit with a bunch of "this is depressing" posts.

I'm sure I would have found those comments on youtube and reddit too if I looked at them harder tho

This video is depressing. It just reminds me that global warming gets worse every year and that we're all just a blip in the universe and when we all eventually die nobody will remember us.

I think this is best thing ever posted here. This comment in combination with watching the old man in dad jeans do the Robo taunt made me shit a little. Literally. You made me shit my pants. And it was worth it.

Now back to watching the video. The enlightment of the old man's mortality made me cherish it more. Who knows? This might be our last chance to see him dance like this. Next video could be him rapping the DK rap with a robot voice from his new wheelchair.

Nihilistic GAF in effect here. The end is nigh, we are all doomed to the looming inevitability of old age and a final resting place.

Shame on the child for clearly forcing his aging and senile father to perform these at gunpoint.

I was going to post a similar thing earlier but decided against it because I imagined all the replies similar to what you got.

For me the vid was melancholic, but still uplifting because it let me see a happy father, lively and healthy, dancing about with his son.
I won't get that because my dad can barely stand up even though he's much younger than the man in the vid, and as such it reminded me strongly about the sadness with my dad. I was still smiling the whole way through because in a way I was living vicariously through the son; just a moment of carefree happiness.

Life isn't always sugar and rainbows people, funny dancing old men can make you sad too >:|

I haven't followed Smash at all since Melee, but damn are those animations good.

Hey developers: less emphasis on polygons and post-processed effects, more time and care for fluid animation with character.
