I was curiously excited when the casting was announced.
Is it wrong that I'm actually looking forward to this?
Oh dear, what's next? A dark gritty Porridge remake?

They could do a zombie version of Last of the Summerwine. They could have a scene where they ride a bathtub down a hill to escape the horde of zombies chasing them.

I watched this the other day.
Wasn't very good. Story was average, Gambon as Godfrey was the only great performance from the core cast. Julia Foster & Annette Crosbie as Dolly & Cissy were pretty good too.
Otherwise, I was lukewarm to all the other performances, except Bill Nighy as Sergeant Wilson who I thought was outright terrible. Didn't capture how Le Mesurier portrayed Wilson at all.
Also, no Verger, and Mrs Mainwaring has a pretty large part in the film, which kind of feels like sacrilege given it was a running joke she was never seen.

haha my nan (who is now also dead) would do this EVERY time Dad's Army was on. Would always say one died young and was tragic as well, every single time.
I guess that would've been James Beck who played Walker, died when he was 44.
My dad used to love Dad's Army and would say the same thing...
