It has been mentioned about a million times in the thread. It seems rather obvious the guy is an enormous douchebag. So if you say you want to be just like him, we assume you also want to be an enormous douchebag.

It's GAF dude, you can never admire individual traits of a person. It's all or nothing.
You assume that I've read through the thread when just like most people I know who've heard off him only know him through his Instagram profile which includes him messing around on his yacht, playing paintball without a shirt on and generally 'living the life'. I'm pretty sure kicking someone in the face isn't on there.

To be fair, the defining trait of Bilzerian is that he likes to boast about being a colossal douchebag when not lying about the origins of his wealth. Money and girls are just part of that picture.

Spoilt trust fund baby who treats women like dirt. I can understand why people want to be like him...but his lifestyle is nothing admirable to me. I'd rather earn my money and be in a meaningful relationship with a woman than be filthy rich and sleep with lots of them.

No, if you want to make a statement regarding a person with only knowing his instagram and not reading all the posts about him, that is your prerogative.
But it does not make you look good if you say you want to be like him, about 4 posts after someone posted a clip of him kicking a girl in the face.
So it is not a prerequisite to read an entire thread, or even a couple of posts, but it does come with certain risks if you don't.

You must understand that most of us only know him through his facebook posts or instagram pics that our friends have shared. The OP and most of the posters on the first page seem to fall under this category. When we speak about wanting to be like Bilzerian we're refering to the lifestyle he leads and the wealth he possesses.There's no reason why we would've checked to make sure he wasn't an asshole first. When someone says they want to be like Gandhi, you wouldn't ask them if they like being sexist?

Interesting how a few people have pulled out boxes with labels on them and are now telling me that it is well established that this guy only should go in that one box labeled 'douchebag' and none other. To me that is douchebaggery and I'd like to ask if you'd please sit in your own box.
As if looking at his Instagram and these posts and of course the face kicking video would make you some interpretative authority. If you step out of your front door a lot of your personal quirks might be seen as douchebaggery and even seeing him kicking a girl in the face plus a news-ish article still does not tell me the whole story. I.e. unprovoked and nasty attacking of my friends would see me through certain stages of rage I might not be able to control.

I am not arguing that it's a clever move, I am arguing that nobody in this thread can claim to know what actually was going on and then go on to tell me that I have to think about somebody in a way because a lot of previous posts said so. Which is what you have been doing and are carrying on to do.
For the people I care about I'd kick any aggressor in the face, all day erryday.

Did you even read the thread title. Its about this guy... love him or hate him. Some peeps give reasons to love him, some give reasons to hate him. I tend to think the latter reasons outweigh the former..
The guy appears to be a huge douche, so I respond to that. What is the use of this entire topic if we cannot give an opinion?
If the girl was pointing a gun at him and that is the reason why he kicked than I was wrong. But the fact he is banned from that club tells me otherwise.

I might just be talking out of my ass here, but my gut feeling, hearing about this guy for the first time just now in this thread, is that the guy secretly feels empty inside, and that's why he (apparently) goes overboard with the sharing, to overcompensate.

One one hand the texts are funny. On the opposite site the financial wealth and security it provides only enhances his vanity and sense of being unbreakable.

Someone said he wanted to be like the guy, I pointed out he seems to be a douche bag because he kicks a girl in the face. That's about it.
And I expect no reply.
Not defending the kicking of the woman, but the pornstar throwing off the roof was for a Hustler photoshoot and approved by both Dan and the pornstar. It went wrong because she grabbed his shirt right before the launch.

To be fair, he only kicked her in the face because she was in the way while he tried to help another woman up on stage. He's not a bad person at all. It's just a coincidence that he happens to act like one.

Nah he had a good chunk of the guy that came 2nd in 2013 though and earned about a million from that.
Most WSOP ME winners don't even get the full prize. It isn't surprising for players to only have 20%~ of themselves.
Not to mention the 30% the tax man takes.
