Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony |OT| Monokuma's Battlegrounds

Before I go further in to Case 2, I'll get my predictions out there so that people can laugh at how wrong I probably am. (Spoilers for Chapter 1's ending obviously, along with some mentions of DR1/2 stuff)

Survivors: Shuichi, Kaito, Ryoma, Kirumi, Maki
I'm going off of a mixture of past game's archetypes as well as who I get that "they'll be sticking around" feeling from. I could see Kokichi being in instead as the Byakuya/Fuyuhiko type arc, but I get the feeling that he's a red-herring in that regard and will be offed earlier on because people find him annoying.

Victims: Gonta, Himiko, Kokichi, Miu

I'd love for Miu to stick around, but I don't see her being the sort of character to make it to the end. These all seem to me like the characters who are more likely to get killed than do the killing in this story.

Killers: Tsumugi, Angie, Tenko, Korekiyo

Can imagine most of these characters snapping at some point. Korekiyo is too great a character that I'm already dreading him going full Gundham late in the game. I can easily see Atua telling Angie to kill someone later on.

Mastermind: K1-B0: He stands out so much that he almost seems like you'd never suspect him of being the mastermind because of how much he stands out. If he is a robot, then running the killing game while not having unexplained absences wouldn't be that hard to pull off for him. Perhaps he's even doing it to study what makes them human. His name sounding like hope would make it even more of a "twist" if it turns out he's actually on the side of despair.

Probably laughably wrong on at least half of this stuff, but it's fun to at least put my speculation out there.
 
This shit has crashed on me twice already (still in prologue) and I'm getting real fucking irritated. Didnt have this problem with 1 and 2.

I understand why indeed but I loved it. Having an ending that sucked in this case made it... good? It really...
Nvm, just saw the post credit. I feel like ending it ambiguously without the postcredit would have been better but honestly I'm happy with this. It blew my mind and I loved every second. It's like a social commentary from the devs to the community and it's wonderful haha

Chapter 2 murder victim:
Goddammit, why'd it have to be him? I wanted to hear more of Akio Otsuka's voice :(
 
Got to chapter 2 end. Here's my prediction on the game's big twist based on information up to that point:
They're on a different planet. Reasons: insects were kept frozen to stay alive; Monokuma keeps making references to "this world" and how he's the one in control of it; there's a big dome enclosing the entire school and everybody in it, possibly to contain breathable air; there seems to be no life except for the aforementioned insects, students, and plants; Gonta notes that the stars in the sky are different; and these Ultimates in particular seem what you would need to start a new society from scratch.

Although the apparent abandoned nature of the school does fly in the face of all this. Miu herself notes how the new hallways in ch2 contained stagnant air, suggesting that they had been in disuse for quite a long time. An alternative version to my prediction would be that the main cast has been frozen for centuries, long after society ended, in order to begin anew. The would explain the previous counterpoints. Maybe it's been so long that the land outside the end wall became inhospitable and that the positions of the stars themselves have changed. The bugs were apparently frozen, so this seems plausible.

I just got to the Deadly Life section of Case 3.

Case 3 Deadly Life Spoilers:
Angie was getting kinda creepy with her cult shit. I'm kinda relieved that she's dead. I was expecting somebody in her council to be the next victim so I'm not surprised. As for the killer, it has to be Tenko, someone else from the council, or as much as I'd hate to suspect him since he's such a bro... Kaito. I have no idea how this happened though since it's a locked room murder.
Guess we'll see what happens.

Really loving the game so far. Even if its causing me nothing but despair.

Also, maybe don't explain every joke. You don't need to have three characters going "BUT THAT'S NOT HOW YOU WOULD DO THAT, YOU'D ACTUALLY DO X INSTEAD OF Y" every time someone uses an exagerration or shouts some funny throwaway line.

I'm noticing this too to be honest.
Tenko says something about being in love with Himiko or about degenerate males
Angie says something about Atua
Kokichi lies and trolls
Gonta falls for his lies
Tsumugi explains every single joke and reacts every single time to references or Gonta being gullible
Kirumi says that she'll take orders
Miu says something dirty
Himiko says something about magic

There is a LOT of repetition of dialogue. Some of it is genuinely quite funny but there's just too much of it

2-3's case was kind of hampered by shoving overall plot developments/foreshadowing into a case. Had the case been grounded in steadier rules, it would've been more compelling. Too many weird things happen.
 
Chapter 4 Victim...
MIU WHYYYYYYY????????? Also, I can't be the only one who was super disappointed when the word Neo World Program popped up and we didn't end up on Jabberwock Island.
 
Now that (CH1 spoilers)
we got a protagonist swap, I think they should take it to the extreme and have a full cast swap in DR4 after the first 1-2 cases. Just go full crazy.
 
Third Chapter done. Pretty ridiculous all along. So many characters are simply insufferable I suppose it has to be on purpose. I couldn't care less if most of them died.

That gif is me right now. One of my waifus and my hasubando getting killed in the same chapter. THIS IS WHAT I GET. I knew the game was being too fucking nice to me. I'm in tears right now.

I thought I couldn't hate a DR character more than Nagito or Junko, but I have been proven wrong. I fucking hate Kokichi Oma more than I thought humanly possible. And before any of you say, "He's fun to hate!"... With all due respect, no. I don't want to hear it. I hate him with every fucking fiber of my being and I am SO PROUD of Miu taking the shot to try and off him.

That punishment was fucking hard to watch. For a multitude of reasons.

I need a fucking drink.
 
I just find all the women in the game to be very annoying other than Kaede, Maki (don't know much about her yet), and Miu - I can see many people hating her but I find her vulgarity funny, especially her free time events. But my god, I hope Angie dies in the most horrific, painful way possible. I want to skip her dialogue every time she is on screen lol.

Starting the Chapter 4 trial now,
I have no fucking clue who it could be. I mean, Kokichi is the most suspicious one obviously but I feel like they're not gonna go that route just yet. Considering the game hasn't quite bucked the trends of the previous games' cases, I think Miu was planing on killing Kokichi but something got in the way and it'll come across as some sort of self sacrifice thing like Sakura/Gundham + Nekomaru.
 
A lot more people hating on Angie than when the game first dropped in Japan.

There are plenty of people who dislike her in more of a villain sense because of the cult thing and the fact that she tries to date rape Saihara,
but most people here seem to just completely hate her from the start.

I wonder if the English voice is affecting her likability.

If you're after the physical copy for a collection perspective, I'd be happy to send you mine (if I actually receive it) once I've finished playing. I don't tend to keep physical games, I just prefer playing larger games on the carts rather than taking up all my memory card space.
 
Oh god, I think my CD from the LE might be defective or something. I tried cleaning it, but for some reason, it has trouble playing tracks 9 & 10, and sometimes 11 through 13 as well if I skip right to it.

....and of course track 10 is Mr. Monokuma After Class, one of my favorite songs from the series & one I've wanted on CD SO DAMN BAD....

Anyone else's LE CD been acting weird?
 
Does anyone really dislike the

minigame?

Aside from it being almost impossible to fail (and taking too damn long), it just feels like its just spelling out the obvious most of the time.

I mean, I knew there was speculation a long time ago that Kaede would somehow die and Keebo or Shuichi or Maki or someone else would take her place but I didn't expect them to pull it off. That explains why I couldn't reach rank 3 with Shuichi. Daaaaaaaamn. I DON'T WANT KAEDE TO DIE THO D:

Now that they mention it, Kaede was indeed acting somewhat weird about sorting the books, and she mentioned she liked those kind of complicated mechanisms. Why did I not see this before?! I guess she did it to kill the mastermind... Argument Armament is way more fun than the previous minigame. And yeah, she did it to kill the mastermind. Closing Argument is fun too. WTF I swear I had the game set to Mean and not Normal?? Meh.

Holy sh*t I feel so bad for Kaede :( She doesn't deserve this. Ahhhh I don't want to see her execution

More annoyed that I had a £5 discount on the preorder I now gotta email them to get back. At least the game will have downloaded by the time I get back home.
 
Chapter 4 END Spoilers

10/10.
This chapter was fantastic. Oma is really crazy as a villain and his expressions in this chapter were truly menacing. Aside from Junko, he's probably the most batshit insane villain in the whole series. RIP Gonta.

A few things were too convenient though, Such as
1) Miu could have easily made herself invulnerable to every other person in the virtual world.

2) Regardless of what the flashback light showed, Gonta believing Oma wayyyy too easily and be willing kill a person was a bit of a stretch.

That said, I can put probably overlook those plot conveniences.


I'll have a guess and say that Ouma will probably be the victim in the next round, with Kaito maybe killing him or something.

PS: All Monokubs are dead. Thank fk.
 
Chapter 4 end

Fuck everything.
I knew it wasn't going to be Kokichi because they were pushing it way to hard but fucking hell... Unfortunately this does basically confirm the last two things I was spoiled on because I saw the full OST tracklist. One was probably what ended up being the theme for Gonta's execution, and the other was probably the one for the next chapter...

Chapter 5 prediction:
Kaito will probably be the killer this time (because the other track I caught a glimpse of was said something about a space journey...) but hopefully Kokichi will be the victim this time. I was thinking he'd be the unlikable fuck that makes it to the end like Byakuya was in the first game but after this, now fucking way he makes it.
 
So my PS4 copy of V3 didnt arrive on time and I really wanted to play it this weekend. So thinking about to downloading it on Vita, the HQ audio download aside, how is the Vita version?
 
Just beat chapter 2:

Going in, I knew it wasnt going to be as good as 1, but it was still a surprisingly good case. Ryoma didnt deserve to die thoooough. :( Poor guy had no one to care for him and the maid wanted to help her country. Such a despairing tale.

I found it hilarious that when the voting on the culprit happened, the maid voted for Shiuchi while in chapter 1 Kaede voted for herself. Nice touch there.
 
Just a general question has the audio balancing been sorted in the full release on PS4? I noticed on the demo that the sound balancing was way off, the music was way louder than the voices.

Just wondering because my copy arrives sometime today.
