I feel like Nolan could definitely direct a Bond movie.

Well, as long as Pfister and his shit action cinematography doesn't come back at least.

Still so disappointing it all peaked with casino royale. I thought that movie was the beginning of a whole new amazing type of bond.

Totally agree

No thanks, for me Tom Hiddleston is up there with Owen Wilson for me, I cannot stand Owen Wilson at all, I find his screen presence grating to say the least, if it is Tom Hiddleston then I will always want the baddie to beat him.

Should be Tom Hardy imo.

Me too, but by the time they got around to talking to him, he thought he was too old for it and turned them down.

Executives actually toyed with the idea of casting him? I thought that was just wishful thinking from the fans. Regardless, he will surely be too old by the time Hiddleston is done playing Bond. Shame.

So Taron Egerton playing a Bond in training prequel isn't happening? I'm sure I heard rumors. I doubt Hiddleston will get the role.

I thought Craig still had one more in his contract? I don't really blame him for wanting to move on though.

Hiddleston is a decent choice, the dude can pull of suave really well.

Having recently watched the Night Manager, it really doesn't seem like a poor choice at all. I feel like at least as much simply depends on what direction they choose to go in with the films.

Why are people acting like this has all been officially confirmed?

The same source seems to be used in this article as the one we were discussing a few days ago, and that seemed spurious at best.

I don't know about Tom Hiddleston for Bond. He's too... I dunno, like his face is too thin and pointy, whereas I feel like a Bond should have a more square face. I just can't see Bond when I look at him.

Maybe I'm just biased because I can't look at him without seeing Loki.

Hiddleston? Incredibly disappointed. It's going to be so jarring seeing like Craig and the physicality he brought it the role try to be emulated by Hiddleston. I can't even see him as the pretty boy old school Bond

Yep. As I said in the other thread - some guy got insider knowledge by putting on that big bet on Hiddlestone a week or so ago. Caused bookies to stop taking bets.

It wasn't insider knowledge, Hiddleston was allegedly seen meeting Mendes at a club in London. Though there's no actual evidence of that and I'm not sure why that would pertain to Bond anyway unless Mendes is doing another one.

Also, OP's source is based on the same Daily Mail article that the BBC already debunked.

Yeah, he and EON met a couple times. Elba's copped to it in at least one interview. He turned it down for age reasons.

It's partially why he's playing Roland, I believe. Might be too old to do what Bond does (on the schedule they do Bond movies - which is pretty long, still) but just the right age to be Roland, apparently.

I think Craig is contractually obligated to do Bond 25.

Michael Wilson's told the press multiple times whenever Craig wants to walk, they'll let him.

Will be missed.

The Bond of the era that actually made the movies watchable.

Hiddlestone would be ok, but I'd prefer some other choices.

How old is Hiddleston? I imagine them wanting a slightly younger one so they can do more than just a few movies...

You should be more respectful, Bobby. The man gave us Vertical Limit. The greatest Chris O'Donnell mountain climbing movie of all time.

I've been salty lately, I guess. Creative frustrations at work spilling over onto the off-topic side of a gaming forum.

I'm gonna go meditate for a second while the Ray Liotta/Ernie Hudson powerhouse epic "NO ESCAPE" plays in the background. It's like catnip for my soul.

Hiddleston's Bond would probably skew closer to Brosnan's than anything.
Hardy's would obviously be closer to Craigs, with a bit of Connery in there
Elba would be the best, but he's already turned it down.
Dan Stevens is a big fuck no.

As much as I like Hiddleston, I wouldn't pick him for bond. I'd expect Bond to be feel physically intimidating, or have a vaguely threatening presence to him which I haven't seen Hiddleston manage, even in The Night Manager. Either Elba or Fassbender would have been great picks in my opinion.

We could make a GAF Bond thread bingo card.

- Mention of Elba
- Skyfall is the best
- Skyfall is the worst
- Martin Campbell should come back
- "Sam Mendes is a hack"

etc
