DARK - E3 2013 Trailer

Why do German games always have to be D-tier? Come on...

The last capable game from here was Spec Ops and I can't even remember another one, except maybe Anno.

Bahaha this is a joke right. Some DARK humor, maybe?

I rarely care about graphics....unless they look terrible, which these do :-(

Maybe the gameplay is....fresh?

The character models are what really stand out. They look...I don't know, like they belong in a generic game from 2007 or something. Maybe all resources diverted to making it a large and interesting world or, like you said, the gameplay is fresh.

Guys it is supposed to be Bloodlines like game. So give it a chance first.

Bloodlines also looked generic as fuck on release date.

That looked.... terrible.

Who makes a trailer of your main character doing the same thing over and over again to multiple NPCs that also look exactly alike...

underwhelmathon.

Well its from Kalypso Media they put our a these mediocre low budget games every now and again. They should just focus on getting out Tropico 5.

I'm not trying to knock the devs on this but the trailer does makes this game look very generic, like we've played this before, except now with vampires. Based on the trailer alone I couldn't play this for 8 to 12 hours but still very little to go on. Need more info before passing judgement IMO.

The Steam store page makes it sound kinda interesting. Greenmangaming has a 25% off voucher that knocks the price down to 25 USD so I bit.

I like how the best they could do for hype quotes were "There are vampires in this game" and "You could keep an eye on it if it interests you"

But yeah, is this a full MSRP retail title? Looks like a $20 game.

Why would they release this? It's gotta have something going for it. Maybe Vampire combat is way cooler than I'm picturing it.

"If Sam Fisher was a Vampire"?!

Jesus.

That looked.... terrible.

And who on earth chose the music?
Though, to be fair to the artists / animators it would be really hard to stay motivated while working on this concept.

It's funny everyone complains that big AAA games with budgets of 10s of millions and even bigger marketing budgets are killing the industry, that are focus tested to death and all cinematic. and that there are no new IPs anymore. And how the only alternative are tiny indie games. But when someone puts out a mid tier game with a new IP with a low budget everyone is of course quick to shit on it.

Not that this game looks good, it sure as hell doesn't. But this is the type of game that a large subset of the gaming community claim they want.

The gameplay... Well, it's the same over the shoulder crap that I'm getting sick of and the objective markers can go suck a lemon, but at least vampire abilities fit a stealth game like a well-tailored suit.

I'm not impressed, but it's not awful either like some people in this thread are saying (And graphics are the least of my concerns; I wish other console games would stop focusing on them when it's a battle they can't win). I'm hoping we can see more of a gameplay demo. You can't judge stealth from trailer snippets.

Why the fuck is someone with Vampire powers sneaking?

That shit alone should send up red flags...
It makes sense to me. Dracula could climb on walls and turn into smoke and transform into an animal, and those are all powers with very useful sneaking applications. Plus, vampires need to sneak around so they can suck blood without getting shot at by police or vampire hunters or whatever.

ps3 game, LATE in cycle.
ps2 game FF12.

How is this even possible, that a ps2 game looks considerably better.

It doesn't. PS2 games look considerably worse than Dark. Even in the pic of FFXII you posted, outside of the faces, the textures are appalling compared to Dark or any newer release.

People posting things like "OMG it looks so bad" and "who the hell chose the music" clearly don't understand nuances of the german game industry. German consumers actively seek out the most poorly designed and badly presented C-list titles due to a 600-year-old curse that was laid upon the videogame market by a vengeful witch. Some domestic publishers, such as Deep Silver and Kalypso, actually sacrifice junior board members in order to curry favour with the witch's fell spirit and stave off bankruptcy.

I really don't understand the target audience for this.
I don't think the mood this trailer is passing appeals to anyone.
