It's always crazy long for me. Not sure if the bottleneck here is the HDD itself? It's quite old, albeit 7200RPM. My fault for downloading it to a HDD instead of my SSD.

OK so the game started to unpack and immediately began dropping fast until it eventually stopped at a whopping 0bytes/s. This is despite installing the game onto my SSD which I know for sure is just fine.

Is there anything I can do?

EDIT: After a hard restart of Steam it seems to have fixed it. Disk usage is going from about 12mb/s to 10mb/s, but thankfully it isn't dropping below that.

The initial estimated unpack time is generally high as Steam has to first update the data. In my case, it suddenly dropped from around half an hour to less than two minutes.

Chances are the game is unpacking the pre-loaded files in the full uncompressed files from a standard installation.
