Man, I'm really bored in this game. Maybe it is too long. Boredom leads to me being homicidal and I ended up killing every NPC. (I feel overpowered in how much damage I do.)

EDIT: Will my Estus Flask+5 carry to new game plus?

In
The Painted World of Aramis
, I killed a huge
dragon standing on the bridge... but I can't seem to progress any further there? It seems to be another dragon sitting there but hitting him doesn't deal any damage and he doesn't attack me.
halp?

That's a known bug isn't it? I don't remember what people were calling it, or what the fix was. Check the wiki.

wtf how are you so far already with your 2nd character despite playing with 1.5 hands?

Turn around, go down the stairs on the left leading to the tower behind you which will take you into the castles court yard. Your just shy of the halfway point for that level.

I'm still Yoshi and I did start of my new character by playing 44 hours non-stop :/...

So what is everybody's vitality at? I'm at 22 and I'm attempting the crystal cave which normally ends with me getting two shotted even with heavy armor. Time to go farm some levels I guess?

Also Smough's hammer is hilarious. I love being invaded only to flatten my invader in one blow.

Vitality in the 20s gives like 30HP per point so it's well worth it to get to at least 30 VIT.

Oh I already beat the stage a long time ago, I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong on that specific part :D

Yep and it still gives you +25 HP even after 30 VIT. It's a really good stat in DkS.

Just out of curiosity is there a level cap or something in this game? I know when people start they talk about building a character around magic or what not, but given enough time could you max every stat?

Level cap is when all stats are 99. Yes you can max all stats in time, but since each level costs more souls than the last, it's highly unrealistic to do in less than a year without glitch exploits.

Most people plan their character builds to stop around SL 120 for PvP reasons, plus it gets extremely tedious to farm souls beyond SL 120 anyways even in NG+.

Hitting a tiny, invisible wall
(the Great Hollow entrance)
and realizing I just found an enormous hidden level was seriously like some Alice in Wonderland shit. The first time I found it, I remember saying out loud "wait what, is this for real...?" It's ridiculously massive, yet hidden basically in a random location, in a random hole in the wall, in a completely unassuming crack....in a tree? I mean, wtf? Amazing. They don't make gaming moments like this in modern gaming anymore.

Definitely will be remembered as one of my all time inspiring gaming moments. I will play this game on and off for years.

That was pretty damn amazing. The area it leads to, as well.

Finally got Big Hat Logan out of the archives this play through, and the spells he gives you are siiiiiick. His hat and cool looking to, only thing it really has is high magic deff. and his staff is amazing.
Yesterday I set him free in Sen's Castle. He told me he'd return to Firelink. After clearing the
Iron Golem
boss in Sen's Castle I went back to Firelink but I couldn't find him.. Where is he exactly?

I'm only at ~38 or so hours and still on Sen's Fortress lol.
At least you're taking your time and you don't have a fucked up finger so you win :lol

Are you in the
big room just outside the mist leading to the boss? Where the two giants are? This is where you use it.

By the original sorcerer. Near the stairs up to undead burg.

Game just crashed on me >< first time.

There are probably a few hours of idle time in there, and I farmed the forest quite a bit because I'm SL74 now.

Vit 28
Att 23
End 18
Str 10
Dex 12
Int 44
Res 8
Fth 8

Enchanted Bandit's Knife +1, Short Bow +5, Spider Shield +5, 2xGreat Soul Arrow, 1xHoming Soul Mass, 1xSoul Spear, 1xFall Control, 1xMagic Shield

Ah ok then, I guess that'd good and bad news. I initially started building my character around strength and endurance so I could wield a sword I found, but then I picked up some neat spells and started pumping points into magic for them leaving my character kind of mismatched. At least with enough time I'll be able to build out of my rut.

Also has anyone had any luck with the dragon covenant? I have yet to invade any worlds using it, and I've never seen it pop up in mine.

Man, I was expecting Wolfie from the trailers to be an epic boss fight. That was the easiest one yet. :(

He's probably the hardest one I've had to fight yet, but I fight bosses exclusively with magic and my problem is he's too fast and interrupts me.

They nerfed magic pretty hardcore for this game, IMO anyway. I was a firestorming machine in Demon's Souls (and Soul Arrow/Homing before that) but it's hard to replicate those results here.

about 15 hours in... this game is sooo goood!!

Somehow, I know I can play this game forever before being compelled to play Zelda SS or Uncharted 3. So addicted!

Rolling a mage, lvl 27ish, 60 soul arrows, 12 heavy soul arrows.
After the gargoyles, for some reason I went to the catacombs still being lv 12. Got trolled pretty much all along
troll firecasters, Patches, wheel skellies, black knight, Tomb of the Giants just after Pinwheel...

Back tracked to Undead burg, cheesed
big ass Havel Knight
with heavy soul arrows haha!

Later on, got ambushed by
dogs and thieves
.

Also cheesed Ca
pra Demon
, thanks to a message hanging up there!

Going into the Depths...

Any advice as good weapons for my "battle" mage? I initially wanted to make some magic or enchanted weapons, but as I read here, going fire or lightning should be better? I don't intend to go higher than 44 INT, and am willing to pump STR to 16 for the eagle shield later.

It's the zombie dragon's back legs. :3

Hit it with a jumping attack.

I do not recommend anyone watching the latest channel update by DSP. It single-handedly made me un-subscribe and I've been an hardcore subscribed since 2008-9.

I didn't have trouble hitting it. I kept hitting it for 5 minutes and he didn't die... so something is wrong. A bug, most likely.

Ok guys, moment of truth time. I've got the Titanite Slab, and a +4 Lightning Halberd. If I use the slab (possibly only one per
playthrough?
I can go from 286 physical to 302 physical, and from 291 lightning to 308 lightning.

In other words, a combined additional damage of 33. Worth it, considering how rare the slab is?

Is there anything else I need the slab to upgrade, or is it only used on lightning weapons?

There is more then one slab, trust me. I was farming for large titanite chunks in New Lando, and got pissed off everytime I got another slab instead of chunks. So don't worry at all.

To keep my Str at 10 and Dex at 12 I opted to make an Enchanted Bandit's Knife. It's pretty fun to back stab and parry riposte with it and the Spider Shield.

Elemental weapons are fine but I think an Enchanted +5 weapon will do more equal or more damage if you're going to have 44 INT anyways.

I saw a DSP video where he fought the lightning gimp below Andrei and was complaining about how the game was so cheap and it would take pure luck to beat the boss. However, each time he fought it he clearly got better because he was learning it's patterns, he just didn't recognize that he was doing that and that's why he started to win. Then he made some lame comment about how this game is for poor kids who need a game to last a whole month, not for people who have tons of other games they want to get through.

Yep. God, I fucking despise DSP right now.

Yeah, I could see a sorcerer having some difficulty there. All his attacks were easily blockable and barely cut my stamina bar. He didn't have much HP either. Beat him first try.

Those cats earlier killed me about 5 times though. :lol

That is where sorcery shines. The cats refuse to go past the wall of trees, so I just baited them back there then shot heavy soul arrows at them. Killed all 3 without dying my first try.

someone invaded me in the forest and turned into a freaking " Tree ", and started using magic, what kind of sorcery is this?

There is a Chameleon spell that lets you turn into an environmental object and only running breaks the spell.

Be glad he wasn't using a huge lance and the Hidden Weapon spell, you wouldn't even know when he is stabbing you.

Anyone else farm the
forest door
the good ol' fashioned way? By giving them one poke each (pretty much) and calling it a day? Maybe not faster, but more satisfying.

I parry riposte them when they get stuck behind trees. Often they also don't fall off the cliff but fall beside me so I have to kick them off.

That's what I mean. The AI is so dumb that it won't even
fall off a cliff predictably
. Much easier (for me anyway) to just do it the other way.

Snuggly is equivalent to Sparkly the crow, he has a nest in Asylum and talks to you when you get close. Same mechanic as before, drop item on his nest, quit game, load game, pick up new item.
