I'm looking forward to it. I'm still very interested to hear feedback when the game launches. There are a handful of posters that could still convince me to pick this up.
 
You can count me in for that ot as well. I'm sure GAF has a lot to teach me, going to do my first play through more or less blind.

My gf is leaving town Thursday night and I have all day Friday off from school. Gonna be a steep learning curve but my body is ready.
 
I've got lots of stuff I need to get done by friday for uni, but I'm going to not sleep and get everything done by thursday so I get to play the game when it comes out. It's going to be glorious (well, sub-hd glorious but glorious nonetheless).

Same here. If impressions are universally positive then I'll bite the bullet as well. Well, by universally positive I mean at least the framerate is ACTUALLY locked at 30(on a decent PC) and there's no weird bullshit with the game we don't already know about.

GMG sometimes delists games when they run out of keys, so that might just be a sign that it's selling well. If it goes on sale again soon, we'll know that was the case.

How about playfully negative? We're not talking about a satirical OT here, just admitting that it's not a great port but imploring people to get it anyway because it's still an amazing game.

Played Demon's Souls on PS3.. but never bought it or Dark Souls for PS3 or 360. Moving away from the consoles with all the promise of 'it just works' disappearing with patches, dodgy online services you pay for and monopoly online stores built into the system.. so really I'm just happy to be able to play the game on my system of preference..

Don't know why everyone is so pithy about the resolution/frame rate thing.. I have many games that I've played on PC from indie developers that are fixed resolution, some don't even go full screen.. oh but they're indie and its their artistic choice, and/or they don't have the experience or enough people working on it and that's okay? All this says is that FROM had an opportunity to do something great and they missed it by doing something good. They never over promised and under delivered .. its actually really nice to be treated with respect and told hey 'this is what we can do'.. rather than be lied to again and again by marketing departments that promise something and then fail to provide: day and date pc releases from ubisoft, a PC version of spiderman that Activision has failed to say anything about, dedicated servers for generic fps x from publisher y.. ;)

Take the game for what it is when you actually can base it off something (and the best way to do this is to play the game yourself or take the word of someone you trust, and I mean trust as in word of mouth from a decent friend.. not a paid for or otherwise biased magazine review).. stop ranting and raving and screaming thunder that you're not going to buy it.. just move on!

(So sorry.. but soooo much negativity in these Dark Souls threads.. get off the hate bandwagon.. leave it a few days.. let the game release.. and then re-assess.. please)
 
There's a lot of negativity only because this could have been a godly version of a godly game, instead it's a mediocre version( the slightly best) of a godly game.

I will still pick it up, but playing this I know I will be thinking about what could have been. :-(

It uses GFWL so for some people it's the worst by default or downright unplayable.
 
I'm excited, although I might be waiting a little while for my physical copy to ship.
Haters can do what they do best, I'm gonna finally be dying the right way!

And that's a game running in almost 3x smaller resolution than 1080p on a powerful gaming laptop. It's not impossible for them to fix it before the release, but I have doubts they'll do anything about it.

Yeah I was a little put off by that comment too. But I think I'll be enjoying the game anyway, as long as I'm able to run it I will be able to apply a little selective ignorance to the missing pc features.
 
This has probably been answered before but does it matter if i buy from GMG when i'm in Europe? It's a lot cheaper.
I want to play with my friends here in Europe.
 
Someone on Twitter got their hands on a copy in Australia, locked out until Friday by GFWL.
3.63GB installed on hard drive.

Im still really hyped about the PC version, its the first time I will play a Souls game. I have a lot of faith in the programmers over at Widescreen Gaming Forums, Im sure they will fix the framebuffer issue.

It seems that there isnt that much interest after all the negative announcements though :(

Also Namco doesnt seem to be doing much marketing for it, even a week before release.

Therefore:

Dark Souls PC |OT| Sent to Die Edition.
