Take the source through Google image search. Open it in paint. Use the stretch function and put it at like 40% or something. Then stretch it back to 500%.

For the image I posted, I did 20%, then 500%.

I'd post a bigger one but I'm at work and the image site is blocked.
 
Don't forget to add a line on the OT like "Complaints about the quality of the port go elsewhere". I don't want to post there if we see tons and tons of complaints about that there, I just want help (and I know I gonna need it...)

Doesn't list gpu, but this guy says it runs pretty well

But truth be told, the game ran beautifully during my demo, and the machine I was playing on--an HP laptop with a 2.2 i7 processor--wasn't exactly a powerhouse. Even better, Zien assured me that Dark Souls will in fact run "much better" on PC than it does on consoles, promising that the atrocious framerate issues found in problem areas like Blighttown have been corrected.

Not naively, if you look in the comments the guy who wrote the article doesn't understand upscaling.

Someone explained the situation to him with the framebuffer being locked at sub 720p and the author said that he would reach out to From for clarification. No update yet.

I feel ya, I was so excited when they announced it and now, well...yeah.

At least we'll know the full truth in a few days, if someone mods or From unlock the resolution and the game runs well and is stable I might pick it up after the GW2 launch madness.
 
my mind-setting regarding this game really changed. the first days i was hating it for the bad port, now im almost fine with it. im hyped to play Dark Souls again, especially for the new content.

Im happy to play it at all on PC honestly. Though I also feel kind of dirty rewarding them with a Day 1 purchase when they put so little effort into the port, oh well.
 
It'd be nice if the OT had a small FAQ for new players to answer common questions. Anyone who's been in the console OT knows that people keep asking the same stuff over and over. It's not a problem, but maybe the OP could point people in the right direction for certain stuff. Maybe I'll write something up?

I may edit down the beginners guide in my current console OT. Links to wikis, etc. If you happen to have a good idea for a FAQ (based on current OT) and want to write it up, I'd appreciate it. Definitely going to add new info regarding the DLC, but overall the OT won't be much different in terms of content. I'm going to change it around visually though.

Sounds good, looking at the OT now though and some of the information is outdated/from before the game was released (description of covenants/gravelord for example). I kind of totally forgot that the beginner's guide was the second post in the current OT.
 
Im still going to wait for a Steam sale... hope some mods will be out by then. You guys think the new areas will reduce invasions?
 
I was looking forward to this but am now waiting for impressions and possibly mods. Thankfully Sleeping Dogs has softened the wait.
