Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition GamesCom trailer [update: new screens]

I'm sorry, I'm probably asking the most abused question but I didn't follow the topic:
did they in the end put in a keyboard+mouse control scheme, or we're still at "joypad required to play" condition?
Thanks.

30 hours out, and we get a bit of new information.

Hmmm....

Not looking good, fellas. Can anyone here do better than Google translate?!

New(???) recommended specs:

Those are some steep recommended specs for a game running at 1024x768, unless they're not actually recommending a Radeon 6XXX or higher card.

Also,
- It appears we'll at least get a windowed mode.
- Mouse unable to be customized?

Woah, i5 and a 6XXX card are really steep requirements O_O

You can play with kb/m. Most impressions I read said it controlled fine but they prefer the gamepad.

Those are the recommended specs, not the requirements but still steep all things considered.

Also, the range in power in 6XXX cards goes from integrated graphics to high-end. The specs are weird.

Wat????

Does the game use DX10 at all?? why recommend it?
The specs on Steam say it requires DX9.0c, but I think even those specs it lists are out of date. These seem to be the more recent ones release (from PC Gamer)
OS: Windows XP , Windows Vista, Windows 7, or newer
Processor: 2.6 GHz Dual-Core
Memory: 1 GB (XP), 2GB (Vista/7)
Hard Disk Space: 4 GB
Video Card: 512 MB RAM, ATI Radeon 4850 or higher, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT or higher
DirectX®: 9.0c
Sound: Direct Sound Compatible
Additional: Multiplayer requires microphone headset support
I'm guessing that's the minimum requirements.

Is there an article or something which describes the details of the kb/m control scheme, I mean: how it works/how's the layout of the inputs? I'm really inapt with the joypad.

there was with a phenom II x2 550 and hd 5830 thinking i was more than ok, now i'm not so sure. goddammit.
Yikes, good luck. That thing as outdated and mediocre when it came out and now it's even older. I don't want to hate on your hardware, but I would definitely be interested in hearing about your performance in Dark Souls.

Could not care less about this port, but I'm curious about any balance changes made. Hoping some stuff gets tested ASAP.

Thanks. I don't see a "roll" button though, or is it the "backstep" one (space)?

Yeah, there is, the way the manual describes it is kind of unclear.

No direction + Space = Backstep
Direction + Tap Space = Roll
Direction + Hold Space = Run

i'm optimistic. 1024 factor whatever @ 30 fps isn't asking for a whole lot. the 5830 = 4890 (more or less), the 550 is fully unlocked and oc'd to 3.7 ghz. i'll post performance info when it launches.

First game that has higher recommended specs than my machine and it runs at 1024x720...I don't even...

Not true. It was very cost efficient when it came out. The dual core allows for high overclock and he probably got 5830 on sale.

I was debating picking up the PC version rather than wait for the 360 DLC, but I think I'll wait from all the talk of the PC version. *shudders*
If you have the hardware it will still be a better experience than on consoles, it's not worse, it's just the same. (Which is a minus in PC land)

I'm not really a PC gamer so I more than likely won't have the hardware. And all my stuff is already on the console along with a ton of familiar faces. So I guess for me the console experience will be better. Just wish they hadn't taken away party chat while online. But meh... that's dealable.
