Dark Souls Streams/Spoilers Thread [No Tags Needed]

holy shit at that boss. The enemy design so far is truly outstanding. (vxds210 is fighting against some giant skeletonthing)
 
Is console live streaming easy to set up? I always wanted to be one of these dudes who streams a early release copy of a hotly anticipated title.

You just need a good quality video input device and a reasonably large amount of upload bandwidth on your internet connection. It's fairly easy to set up for most sites.
 
Did anyone see that crazy shit that happened on vxds210´s stream right now?
He fell into a big hole, camera zoomed out, he did not die from the fall, some weird message poped up, then a boss life bar appeared, screen was all black, then he died.

Stream chat went crazy. Man, this fucking game.

spoiler question: know servers are down but any stream examples of covenants actually doing something?

2nd spoilery question: does every boss have a body part that gives a weapon or only some?

I believe you can actually summon key members of covenants to help you at points in the game. I have yet to see someone do this. I figure it's what Miyazaki said when he wanted players to experience the online element offline. I think in one of the streams an NPC invaded the player's game. It's why we see the Solair of Astoria in some screenshots outside of the area he's in. Someone also said on /v/ that violating the conditions to friend one of the covenants led to some NPCs going after the player for being an Undead.

And not every boss gives a weapon IIRC. The Asylum Demon gives the player a key to get out of the Asylum. Has there been incidents that the boss gives the player more than that item?
 
Does anyone know of a stream or youtube link that shows like the first hour? I want to see some stuff, but only early game spoilers. I fear these streams are deep into the game.

Most major bosses will give you their own unique soul which you can combine with a +10 weapon(depends on the type) by talking to the giant blacksmith in Anor Londo.

Apparently beating the asylum demon via melee gives you its weapon as shown here:

Watched a stream where the guy used the pyromancer's magic against the demon but only got the key.

Also beating the armoured boar head on instead of back stabbing it apparently gives you the boar's helmet. This guy backstabs it but ends up disappointed:

Also sniping the dragon's tail nets you a flying dragon sword:

Wow, a couple of those Japanese streamers have gotten pretty damn far. Just jumped in and saw Giant Snake Headed enemies. Other dude was wearing an amazing undead robe with a massive scythe. Now I feel like I need to go easier on the spoilers, this stuff is just too good.

It seems more like Monster Hunter where destroying parts of a boss lets it drop phat lewts.
 
It looks like the vxds210 guy is about to beat the game. It seems like he's beaten the main bosses. (He beat the one he was having trouble with last night a few minutes ago.)

Or maybe he's just in a strange new area.
 
This fire sword wielding motherfucker looks really fun to fight! Is this the last boss? I loved the last boss in Demon Souls too, though he went down a little quick.

Is dodge rolling as effective in this game as in Demon Souls? I rolled up a storm in that game :3
 
Man this final boss seems way harder than the 1-4 boss in Demon's souls which I had to use poison cloud glitch to beat.

I really need this game and these streams are only making it worst. I just can't stop watching. :(

I really think vxds should take a break though. He knows what to do but is clearly frustrated. A 15-30 min break could do him wonders.

Edit: Looks like I spoke too soon. Lol, I can't wait to square off against that super aggressive mofo.
 
Just tuned into vxds210's stream and wow, this game, this mother fucking game. Everything about it just looks like everything I hoped for in a sequel to Demon Souls.

Really loving his armor as well. It looks really funny especially during this boss fight. This is too awesome.
