Cautiously hopeful. Hopefully THQ Nordic manages to make good on Vigil's earlier work, but all the changes in who is responsible has me uncertain.

Based on having Fury as the Darksiders 3 lead, looks like we have a different Horseman for each game. So if they ever get to a Darksiders 4, they'll probably have Strife as the lead. Which is cool, since I like his design the most. Hope they can still keep the hack and slash combat with him even though he uses dual pistols. Either give him a new melee weapon or just have him hit people with his guns.

Arkham Knight's Red Hood gameplay provides a not altogether terrible idea for what melee handgun gameplay can look like in an action game.

Ehhhhh. I love the franchise, and I'm totally down for a female lead, I just don't like Fury's design. The hip swagger, and high heels?. The trailer doesn't have me excited any more excited than the mention of a DS3. I hope they pull it off.

This isn't listed for switch right? No port beg, I'm just surprised Nordic wouldn't look to shoehorn it onto the platform at all costs. If this is indicative of it being technically ambitious or whatever though, rock on. I recently replayed the series on pc but now I want to go in again haha.

Plus, I had remembered liking 2 more but upon replaying I much preferred the first game so I'd also like more of that.

Edit: Those talking about Switch, I know little but: Isn't mandatory that games should work with traditional controls and with de-attached joycons? I don't know how they work but I've heard devs don't like to work on different types of controls.

Knowing that this is yet another prequel/concurrent series of events with the first game is really disappointing.

Are they really SO confident that a DS4 with Strife is a sure thing, with an eventual DS5 down the road to bring all four horsemen together for a grand finale.
Seems really stupid to me that they wouldn't use this extremely unlikely opportunity for a new Darksiders game to go all out and wrap up the series and go out with a bang.

We may now end up with another identical situation to what we had with DS2 if this game sells poorly, a cliffhanger teasing a sequel that may never come...

That's pretty damn mediocre/borderline bad trailer, but I did enjoy the first two games so I'm optimistic.

I never understood why everyone in this franchise has such ugly faces though. At least in the second game you played as a guy with a mask.

The first darksiders cg intro is still one of my faves. The 2nd games sucked. So I didn't expect much from the 3rd. Still, the games are amazing!

Feels like they went a bit too cartoony (ironically in a game trying to look like a comic book designed by a comic book artist) with her design when compared to War, Death and her old design that seem to exist in comics.

Still, cool to see this confirmed. Glad that THQ Nordic seems to be doing something with all those IP's they got unlike other publishers who just hoards them and then do nothing with 'em.

Also, CGI trailers rarely feel that appropriate nowadays. It's better the open with actual gameplay. And if you can't show that, then maybe wait with announcing it?

My only takeaway is that Fury seems like a jerk. Death has sympathy for War, and fights to clear his brothers name.

Fury seems like a gun for hire asshole.

Hype; love me some Darksiders and I thought it was dead. That being said, truly awful character design. She looks like a generic enemy from a PS2 era hack n slash game. Her face in particular looks incredibly cartoony and flat, much more so than War's and Death's. Then again, it's just a reveal trailer; hopefully she looks great by release.
