Darksiders 3 Reveal trailer

Gotta be one of the most unlikely franchise revivals. Good for former Vigil keeping it alive. I really enjoyed the first two, especially DS2, looking forward to this one.

Nah, this franchise always had a big potential, and fanbase is loud enough. I expected THQ Nordic to eventually make this. They don't have many big IPs, and it is easier to create a new DS game than new Red Faction game.

The hell will truly freeze over when gems like Singularity and Binary Domain get propperly funded sequels. Now that's unlikely. We already managed to temp fate with Nier, its resurgence was nothing short of miraculous.

Steam community never disappoints.

Cautiously optimistic. I hope it's more like the first game than DS2. I wouldn't immediately discount the game for being an apparent prequel with a new protagonist, either. It has the potential to expand upon the first game's ending.

I think expecting a four player co-op character action-lite Zelda clone is a bit unfeasible. And it's not like that games is just play as War, now play as Death through War's campaign, etc.

They're both different games that fit into the same style(2 was a bit too ambitious with the changes when all it should have been was a more refined sequel) and I don't really have a problem playing vastly different campaigns with different characters.

If they ever reach a Darksiders 5(I'm just happy we even got a third game). I'd much rather have a game that either switches between characters or has you choose four different campaigns then trying to turn the game into four player co-op.

So yeah, I feel like the hate is unreasonable considering it's not just the same game again and again. Especially since this is the first game in 6 years when it comes out.

The series was originally supposed to be four player co-op (hence the premise), but basically a lot of tech and budget issues got in the way, and they didn't want to pry staff off of the Warhammer 40K MMO (the main purpose of Vigil) to do it.

That said, I can't imagine THQ Nordic can actually afford to make a game like that, at least currently. This makes way more sense for their means.

I'm pretty sure Darksiders 3 was originally gonna be a co-op game.
The first actually, and the second, and the third, but you get the idea.

Pumped to see another Darksiders. Kinda hope it's a little more like the first though...

Also, for crying out loud, just let me play as War. :(

If only.

Timeline means I have negative interest and will now have to campaign against this game.

She's working with the council, and doesn't show any sympathy to her brother. In the short term, she is likely not on his side. That's fine though. Maybe War and Fury don't get along much.

She's working for the Council for the same reason War and Death did, to clear War's name.

The interaction to me comes off as a brother/sisterly "you done fucked up but I'm here now" type of ordeal.

I know, just saying I never thought the idea itself was worth exploring. Mostly talking about how the complaints annoy me a bit.

I get wanting a straight sequel, I don't get wanting it to go full co-op

Come on bud.

You know she's gonna be a lady.

With insane cleavage, a round butt and a slim waist.

Probably has horns just to make her seem "demonic".

But will she have creatures that crawl out of her nipples to attack you?

that design..... yikes.

eyes, hair, boob armor, heels, whipsword.... eh.

also wasnt Fury supposed to be a gunslinger?

Nah that's Strife. In Darksiders 1 you find one of his guns and in 2 you find the other. Which means Strife is currently without guns and to get 'em he'd have to meet up with War and Death

I mean, we all know that, but I'd like to be wrong

I think you're setting yourself up for failure if you think a game that has always looked like a 90's comic book plays out like a 90's comic book art design wise.

I feel the same with those surprised she's wearing heels.

Nah, that one (replica) was forged from the giant blacksmith.

That's Strife's deal.

At least they didn't keep the original concept design for her, this is a lot better. Even with the combat heels and molded armor cups shit.

i think at this point play one and watch the story of the other one.

Personally, play 1 and watch 2's story because 2 brought nothing to the table besides excess.
While 2 certainly tends to drag on, I'd still recommend playing through it. It's still a very fun game, and looks nicer with the Deathinitive edition.

There's also not a shortage of time, what with Darksiders 3 releasing in 2018.

...excess awesomeness. I think 1 is far less interesting, and more worth YouTubing. War is a humorless straight man, and the combat is more interesting and varied in 2.

Hyped, day one, believe, etc, but...

From IGN's article "It’s set around the same time as the events of Darksiders 2, which was released almost five years ago, and will follow Fury’s quest to destroy unique physical versions of of the Seven Deadly Sins."

We're never getting a continuation of the first game's badass ending, are we?

Except most people didnt care much for the combat because the loot was boring, the dungeons weren't as good and the story was wayy less interesting.

Sure the combat was better, but that's not really something that made Darksiders big.
