Darksiders 3 Reveal trailer

Nice to see a sequel to this franchise, still got to finish the second game.
I really don't like her design though. The eyes just feel off, I really don't like the way they animate. And her outfit doesn't help.

I like her character design, and it makes sense for a highly stylized comic universe. They could have done much worse. She looks like her combat style depends on speed, so bulkier armor makes no sense. Heels, whatever.

This is coming from a woman.

I'm ok with an armor focusing more on being light and since they actually covered her skin I can just pretend it's some kind of magic chainmail.
My biggest problems are the heels and the chest plate. Boots and a plate with a singular cavity for her breasts would fix my issues with it.

Love the design but her face is off, it's too feline. The one on the comic looks so much better:

Very interested. I get why they're not going right into an actual sequel-follow up to Darksiders and doing another side story a la Darksiders 2. I would hope that if this game does well that they'll move to said follow up and not just do a Strife solo game but I'd be fine with that regardless. I hope they can reform as much of Vigil as possible because I know key members are still not part of the team.

Well 90s MacFarlane or not all I know is that I find this protagonist's design Hideous with a capital H! Especially everything that's going on in the face! The dumb stilletos and boob armor certainly don't help.

Neir's 2B design is also a flavor of dumb but my God is she not the polar opposite to this crap.

I know nothing about this franchise, so my interest flew through the roof reading all the page 1 replies. Checked some gameplay of the first two games and I just bought the Fury 2 for 1 pack or whatever it's called on XB1. Hyped to play this series.

I don't think Joe Mad is involved...didn't he quit the studio or something? Was he even involved in Darksiders 2? The art seemed a bit off for that game, compared to the first.

Joe Madureira‏ @JoeMadx
No, I'm not directly involved in DS3. Worked on Fury's concept, but that's all 4 now. Purely a @gunfire_games joint! It will rock! Trust! <3

That said, we are close with GF and @THQNordic and they know they have our full support any time! Huge congrats to all involved!

I'm not worried, Joe Mad works at Airship Syndicate, and Gunfire has worked closely with them on projects before. I'm sure they might step in and help out somewhere along the development cycle

Strife has a cool cyborg aesthetic going on that the series could really take advantage of, adding parts to his body or even transforming.

It makes Female Warrior with a Whip even less interesting, she could have been so much more.

I like how we just got this surprise announcement and people are already salivating about the next one with the gunslinger

So sat my girlfriend down with the trailer to get her reaction. She's an artist and a cosplayer so we talk about character design alot.

She described the design as boring, over-designed (that's Darksiders' aesthetic, so it's consistent atleast), and "something a cosplayer would do." My favorite was when she noticed the eye on the chest and went "is this someone's 'Sexy Sauron' cosplay?"

As you said "Darksiders aesthetic", I could see someone saying that from every design of the franchise, not something particular of Fury. I like the designs tho.

I'm just happy that Darksiders 3 is a thing that has a release date. The franchise could suffer a worse fate considering what happened to THQ.

Anyway, I personally prefer Darksiders 1 than 2, so I hope 3 will be a lot closer to 1 in terms of gameplay.

I love 2, but it was laden with fetch quests I couldn't care less about.

"Yo, Death, our heater and plumbing died on us. Can you, you know, fix them? Pretty please with cherry on top?"

"Sweet, our heater and plumbing are working again. You're cool, Death, thanks. Oh, by the way, we need our long lost Gundam, so, could you please go find a smaller mecha that can help you help us get our Gundam back? You'll do it? Gee, man, many thanks."

"Oh, hey, Death, sorry about that whole Gundam thingie not working out for you. Anyway, you wanna meet the boss, right? No problem, it's just that I am currently betting against the current reigning boxing champ. So, if you can beat him, everything will be peachy and I promise you, you will finally meet the boss. Are we cool? Cool, run along now."

"So, you wanna challenge our boxing champ? Sure, it's just that he really, I mean REALLY loves rocks. You know what to do right? Bring three pretty rocks and you'll have your match."

"Oh, Death, you know I really want to help you, but my three managers are slacking off and ran away god knows where. Find them and bring them back will you."

"What? I'm not slacking off. In fact I'm working hard to meet my sales quota. That said, can help me get at least three customers? Then we can go meet the boss together."

And so on and so forth.

I share the same sentiments, would've preferred to have played as Strife. As long as this game turns out good in terms of gameplay then oh well.. Could be much worse (look at No Mans Sky).

Her high heels are incredibly stupid.

But any Rider, man or woman, should have a heeled boot. Shame that more of the Horsemen aesthetic isn't part of the character designs.

And man, I really hope this is more like Darksiders 1 than 2. DS1 was so much better and I absolutely hated the LOOT LOOT LOOT design of DS2.

He was directly involved with 1 and 2 and the creation of the characters... Wont be involved with 3.

When THQ went bankrupt, Vigil Games went under.

A bunch of the Vigil Team got together and formed Gunfire Games... The other few Vigil devs went with Joe Madureira and formed Airship Syndicate.

Joe Madureira is busy working on Battle Chasers Nightwar (a game based on his comic from the 90's)

Darksiders it the gift that keeps giving. Liked both games. Excited for three.

Not even the death of THQ and Vigil can stop the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Hype seriously deflated for me if Mad is not on it.
That was the dream for me, the whole series with his art.

Meh...

Day 1.
I was freaking sad when I heard the news that no other Darksiders game would've been made from the same company but deep inside I always knew they couldn't quit just like that without bringing us the games of the other 2 Horsemen <3
Not that sympathetic to Fury thought, Death is still my favorite along with Strife.

I don't like her face as much as previous art we've seen of the character.

Unless I misheard, they call her "rider of the black horse," but according to earlier artwork, her horse was white?

BUT Y'KNOW, ABOUT SIX HOURS BEFORE THE LEAK, I WAS TELLIN PEOPLE HOW MUCH I NEEDED DARKSIDERS 3, SO I AM PRETTY DANG HAPPY ABOUT THIS

I'm pretty happy that they're making a third game. Will probably replay Darksiders 1 at some point. With regards to the second game, I have the vanilla version on Steam. Is it worth buying the Deathinitive version as it is on sale? Is it a significant upgrade, and does it run well?

So hyped for this.

Finished Darksiders 1 and 2 few years back.

I got the remasters, should play them in anticipation of this title :D

I'm happy that the series was able to continue.

I'm really hyped just because of the fact this exists. I'm a huge Darksiders fan. Fury's design is fine with me, the only issue i personally have is that i don't like whips as weapons :/

Hated the first game, loved the second one, so we'll see.

It's a very different team though, so my expectations aren't super high as of right now.

Really loved Darksiders 1&2 (except one of the locations in 2) and can't wait for this!
But trailer could be better. And don't like Fury's design, specially her eyes.
