Dated visuals you still think look amazing

Jaggies and blockiness welcome! Let's admire the games that managed to pull off beauty while being held back by the limitations of their systems.

I volunteer Panzer Dragoon Saga!

I can't find many screenshots to do it justice but i'm replaying the game at the moment and i'm stunned by what it can make the Saturn do. There are moments where it still looks astonishing today.

I would have said Pd saga too but I replayed it a year ago and that town in the OP is hella rough. It's Almost modern artish.

Yoshi's Island still looks fantastic to me, even to this day

I was playing this the other day and thought to myself I don't think i've played a 2D game that feels this smooth both visually and control wise. The transition as a level begins is just stunning.

I keep posting the same Ridge Racer Type 4 gifs every time a similar thread pops up, man it just looks so fucking great to this day. It just has a timeless aesthetic.

And to this day, it still has my favorite GUI design in any game. Readable, clean, unique and gorgeous. What more can you ask for?

Rayman 2 looks amazing to this day, couldn't really find any good screenshots about it though. Art style in it is timeless for me.

When I was playing Shenmue earlier this year, I found myself taken aback by just how far ahead of it's time the game looked. I was able to appreciate the visuals a lot, and it made me wish that I'd have played it back in the day.

For sure Shenmue has a stlye all of it's own, everything is so bold and defined.

Rogue Squadron 2 on the Gamecube, I refuse to believe that game is 14 years old.

I'd do unspeakable things for a remastered/remade RS trilogy. I wonder what the rights situation is with the series.

I remember thinking The Last Express looked amazing when it first released.

Picture is from the re-release but the image quality is the same.

I want to post The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, but every screenshot I stumble upon is upscaled either by Dolphin users or by Nintendo PR team, and that would be cheating.

Speaking of visuals, Skyward Sword is the pinnacle of SD gaming.

I honestly think The MegaMan Legends games have a great style and still look great. If you want to do a game that looks like PSONE games, MegaMan Legends is the way to go.

THE GOAT

I will accept nothing else, the game is old but the visuals havent aged a bit.

Ehhhh, they've definitely aged. Played it a bit recently on 360 with the remake.

It still looks good for its time. But my memory ofnit was way better than the reality
