This is the first time I've seen anything from this game that made it look interesting (to me). Looking good! Glad they released this video. I might give this one a shot now.
Uhm.....doesn't look overly impressive, #ForThePS4Poor?
I should also point out that it's not just the camera that needs work but the animations in general. You know it man. They really have to work in the camera for these before release becaues they lack oomph. It's especially noticeable becaues I just played TLoU again a few days ago and that is still the king of of these realistic TPS games for melee feel.
You might want to replay Batman because that does not look to be this style of combat
Look at it this way, if it turns out to be great and not be another open world checklist title, you're allowed to change you mind later and like it after playing it.
I am confused here the game is still in development of course not going to be polish at this stage :/Seems like it needs some serious polish. The core of the game looks really good, and you can tell they're working with great tech, but loose melee, the guys foot clipping through the other guy's head, the framerate, etc. all bring it down.
It looks really rough compared to what's typical from Sony first party.
Third person shooter/melee, story focused, stealth, zombies, extremely serious in tone, naturalistic setting.
There is really no interesting angle that I'm seeing here besides maybe fighting a bear. Everything they are doing here has been done before and better elsewhere. I don't mean to be harsh, but I've watched every single demonstration that has come out for this game and I continually remain bewildered why this game exists.
I'd love nothing more for this game to prove me wrong. Maybe they'll really lean into the biker angle to differentiate itself, who knows I guess.
I've definitely seen it before, so no. But this one is a little longer and with better IQ.Is this new?
Stage demos werent scripted though, or at least not as much as people assume, since they've played both demos in different ways. For example, here driving into the wire wasn't scripted but a dynamic ambush that you can avoid and outflank. The alternate path is more interesting than what was shown on stage, just like last year, but I'm still not totally feeling it. I don't think it'll be bad, it just lacks a spark to totally hook me.
The devs do talk about some really cool dynamic stuff in the world so hopefully the general moment to moment open world stuff provides some more variety than the scripted stage demos.
Yep they explain this many times now, only thing that was scripted was the bear basically.Stage demos werent scripted though, or at least not as much as people assume, since they've played both demos in different ways. I'll never understand why they greenlit this game and the rollout confuses me further.
If the game isn't incredible people will rate it far worse than it is and that's unfortunate. I hope it works out for Bend.
New gaf logo should be a bubbleWait what? What does this mean?
You know tons of people are actually hyped for this game right? People do think it looks good. Yea they gotta fix the pop in and stuff, but the game is slated for next year.
The open world nature, the crafting, the zombie aspect of it has people hyped.
I'm not saying it's going to sell 10 million, but I'm sure it's going to do very well for itself.

I meant more in the sense that the developers walking us through stuff in specific ways is less interesting than it emerging organically through gameplay to an unsuspecting player. Impressions of people playing in the open world are what I'm waiting for.Stage demos werent scripted though, or at least not as much as people assume, since they've played both demos in different ways. Well yeah, but Sony's first party titles typically look tightly polished even when initially revealed, if only that vertical slice.
I expect this game to come together quite nicely, and I hope they're given the time to do so.
Probably my biggest concern is that the game hasn't showed a huge improvement between the last showing a year ago. Hopefully the rough edges are just the last thing Bend is going to focus on.This game really does bring out the worst of gaf. Can't wait for this game to silence haters just like Horizon did. Also, it's at least a year away from release. Might want to keep that in mind.

Putting ads for this on Walking Dead will be huge.Open world, zombies, action, sony marketing behind it.....game is as easy as crap to market,,,gaf really is a bubble. Unless it is crappy it will do well.

This is so silly. Was really interested in this game after the reveal last year. While rough, it showed promise. Since then I've seen nothing to indicate it will live up to that promise. The bike is slow and looks like it has awful physics, gunplay still lacks feedback and it seems stealth requires nothing more than making noises that the dumb af AI will investigate like a trained pet. Off my radar until I see something that looks like more than hodpodge of other people's ideas.

Just let it go it's gonna stick until release(it's gonna stick forever because ppl parrot on here forever)This is so silly.
I need a new Killzone like 2. Such a great game and that gameplay was simply perfection.Weight is definitely something that can be appreciated by simply watching videos.
You can feel the weight of the gun when firing in Killzone 2 compared to the one in Call of Duty for example :

It does not matter what those ideas are its matter what they do with them.
Like 98% of games then? This post is silly, and hyperbolic....game is a year away, we haven't seen much yet. Show me a game where weather effects the gameplay with fast zombie hordes?
True...don't know why I bother...People still pop into Horizon threads acting like Far Cry invented bows, Crafting and maps lol.
