Days Gone, Dynamic 4k, 60 fps Save Transfer on PS5

Been thinking about going back for the platinum. Now I definitely will. Whoever hasn't played this yet is lucky they'll get to experience the whole game like this.
Played about an hour of the game but I just couldn't get into it. Does it get better?

Gonna give this a try on PS5 for 60fps alone.

I was debating whether to continue playing now or wait for a possible upgrade. I guess I have my answer now.

Because the BC modes on the PS5 are quite basic, it seems. That, and Sony has been pretty cautious when marketing a couple of their features: Out of fear that some might sue their asses...
I don't know: Do you have a better explanation?

Just two possible answers

1) not powerful enough to sustain those parameters

2) bad optimization, but it's a PS Plus Collection title with a special treatment/patch so I find this a bit weird

I hate dynamic resolution. I'll be playing it anyway. Hopefully I can drop it to 1080p and still get the 60fps.

Yes. It's a slow burn initially. Once it gets going, you'll probably be in until the end. It's a long game too.

Game is a blast.
I want to hear about the load times though.

Yes load times are the last thing I want to know about. I heard they were terrible on the PS4.

One of my favorite games of 2019. Still don't understand why it reviewed so poorly.
The poor performance was one of the reasons. In the launch version i had slideshows while on the bike, sometimes even 2-3 seconds freezes. With better performance i think it would have gotten a 75.

That's good news, honestly. I know most people hate long games. But I prefer a long SP campaign.

I bought the game feeling kind of unsure about it. It was getting mixed reviews and some people were calling it crap. I caught it on sale and hoped it was good.

I don't rush games and I think it took me around 80 or 90 hours to finish. I loved it.

I know it will sound like concern trolling but I really don't like this idea of « up to 60 FPS ». Lower resolution I don't mind too much but fluctuating frame rate is awful especially in a game where you shoot stuff.

That runs at much higher settings, have they changed anything on Days Gone?
This is a PS4 BC game and they've only just said about this today, how would I know?
But look, let me change a few words of this:

What?

An Unreal Engine exclusive UP TO 60 and DYNAMIC 4k?

Really? On a PS5 and without RT?

I think we'll have some problems here.

There is no problem with either of them (This or Gears, dynamic 4k and 60fps is perfectly fine).

How do the save transfers work? Do you manually copy from cloud once on the PS5?
Yep. Cloud transfer is an option if you have PS+ (not sure if automatic or manual) and if not you can move saves over with a USB drive.

I'll definitely give this a go as some point. It really the only game in the PS+ collection that I had any interest in, but never got around to.
In addition to transfer via PS+ cloud saves or via USB storage, seems that you can also transfer saves offline via wifi directly from a console to another.

I think DF just said Gears 5 had some RT for the global illumination. It isn't even a setting on PC yet either.

For anyone on the fence, this is a PHENOMENAL game. Do not listen to the reviews. Do not sleep on it because you heard the game had some bugs and framerate issues. Do not skip it because you saw some funny lines of bad dialogue. The game is a blast to play AND has an excellent story.

It's an adult story full of characters who aren't just good or bad guys in a Marvel movie or 99% of the games out there. The gameplay is simply superb. You start off afraid of fighting maybe 10 or 15 zombies and you have to stealth it out like it's the last of us. But then soon you get an incredible arsenal of weapon and gadgets and then a 100, 200 or almost a 1000 zombies at once feels terrifying but extremely fun at the same time.

The open world is gorgeous and feels very dynamic thanks to zombie hordes moving from resting to feeding in different places at different time of day. You just never know when you are going to run into a massive zombie horde.

this is a good, informative post.

I played it this year on ps4 slim. By the end of the game it barely worked... and the game was kinda terrible. I don't get the hype

That's because Gears 5 is a very demanding game as is and is now running at PC ultra settings.

Also you forgot to mention the 120fps mode lol.

MS also spent a lot of resources to make Gears 5 look and run better on the XSX. That's not the case here. This is good old school BC.

Software-based ray traced screen-space global illumination according to DF in March (I didn't watch the video today, did they confirm it?).
Anyway my point is, dynamic 4k / 60fps is good, talking shit about it especially on games as good looking as Gears 5 (I don't like the chunky character models but its still a good looking game) and Days Gone is silly, sometimes the shit comes back up from the toilet and bites you in the ass.

In MP right? I don't know the resolution, is that dynamic 4k also?
Anyway we're going off topic lol, dynamic 4k 60fps = good.

This game is mad underrated and to be fair ran kinda like trash on the base ps4, will be my second ps4 game I run through when I get my ps5........next year.

It's ok in the middle part, but i think it was just too long. The complete last part was just too much for me, sometimes less is more. And as usual in those games at some point fights become trivial, because your character transforms into John Cena.
