Dayum, check out these sexy Nintendos

Oddly enough, my favorite looking DS system was the light blue DS Lite. I usually don't like that shade of blue at all, but I think it worked great with the system.

Also, I know people love to hate the DS Phat but I still think it looked great in some colors.

I had this launch version, and a Japan-only Pearl White version which was freaking gorgeous, but I was short on money and couldn't afford buying a Lite without selling it...

Miss it a ton :(

Traded in my phat for the 3DS...kinda regret it now. DS games look awful on the 3DS :(

Just a heads-up as they were mentioned earlier, those gamecube-like replacement sticks are garbage. They feel good when you move it, but they can't detect some movement.

Things like spinning the stick like in Zelda or Mario Party. Or a quick tap for a smash attack in SSB. As well they are way too sensitive for FPS games.

Edit: for $10 you're better off just looking for a good used controller.

I can't actually decide if I like my Famicom anniversary GBA Micro or my Mario anniversary DSiXL... The XL is maybe the best piece of hardware I've ever seen from Nintendo. Such a solid system. And the glossy red with a textured black opposite side feels great.

This would have made a great Eerie Indiana episode.

My man, first thing I thought was wait a second I don't remember Simon being involved in an episode like this.

I do not like the glossy consoles but the controllers are pretty boss.

I wonder why CVG puts watermarks on images by artist Zoki64 that they found on Kotaku.

I can explain: CVG don't know what they're doing. Judging by the quality of their output, their office must be like a sixth form common room.

Like the paint jobs. I was considering trying to make some gold Wii nunchucks, but too much equipment is needed from what I gather.

So hot, want to touch the heinie...

More from this guy here.

Hands-down the most impressive one I've seen, though, is this Inuit N64:

The reflection has the right color, just darker because of the surface

The biggest problem is that the reflection has the name "Game Boy Color" while the game is all black in that place

?????????

What picture are you looking at?"Game Boy Color"? Wut

I'm calling foul. The reflection is black, or has been badly tinted. Look at the white buttons. They have a bit of lighter green halo to it, where the work "greening up" the body overlaps the button a bit.

Sorry ... mixed game boys xD

Yeah, i know the halo ... but the color of each "Game Boy Advance" is INSANELY diferent at the reflection

Which movie is this?

Picket Fences. TV show from the early '90s. Somebody linked to the episode in question on Hulu higher up in the thread. I'm kind of surprised something that nice was allowed on prime time TV almost 20 years ago. That's probably the gist of what you'll want to see if your interest is purely T&A. The series itself is one of those semi-quirky shows from the era, like Northern Exposure.

BTW, no love for GC controllers?

I still have my first controller(black), and I modded it when my second (purple/transparent) broke. The result was a black/transparent controller that looked sexy as hell...though I don't have any pics right now :/

I'm so over gloss, particularly on anything you're supposed to handle. The two keyboards I use right now, a Razer Black Widow and a Logitech diNovo Edge, are both glossy and it's a nightmare to keep fingerprints off of them, particularly the Logitech, because of its low profile keys and because it's wireless, so I got it to move around with it.

Actually this part I believe, because if you remember, the Game Boy Advance logo on the actual unit was lenticular:

...so it is normal for it to reflect light at different intensities at different angles. I believe this one part was not shopped, but the green color of the non-reflected GBA was.

some pixels... quite a few shops in my time...

Just spitballin', but perhaps they went to the source and asked for permission?

I would have assumed that Kotaku would have done the same.

It would be pretty stupid for any outlet to run someone else's copyrighted photos without permission.
