I really hope they are taking a serious look at all the player feedback on the first game and working their asses off to rectify the issues with it for this game. They built a solid foundation with the first game and if they worked to address the issues they could have a stellar game.

Keep the loot.
Keep the open world.
Keep the co-op, but make single-player better.
Beef up the RPG stuff.
Better UI.

Maybe it's a cheaper standalone expansion a la that Saints Row 3 thing or the GTA episodes?

yeah, makes sense. Probably not too big of a departure in gameplay/graphics, but rather new areas/weapons/etc, probably something like that.

Whatever this is (sequel/expansion), sign me up! Loved Dead Island..flaws and all.

I really do hope this is a fully fledged sequel though, as I'd love to see Techland address all of the issues that plagued the original. This franchise has some serious potential.

Same...one of the rare games I played through twice, thanks to the way it was set-up and had tons of fun in Co-op.

fix the glitches. It killed me that one day I turned the game on and every single weapon I had in my inventory just vanished. haven't finished the first one yet because of that.

Wait a second

I thought the french article said that you're a new group of survivors. Hmmm

Regardless, I loved this game whilst playing with friends

After a first episode that I had the privilege of testing, Dead Island will soon hand over the cover with a sequel. Contrary to what I thought, it's not a DLC or even an add-on to this nifty FPS, but a real full game, continuing the story of his elder. When Washisama told me yesterday that I had to go home to see Deep Silver Dead Island: Riptide, I was ecstatic. Right now I'm even more you can imagine ...

After a short presentation of the game by Sebastian Stassart, creative director, so I could get hold of the pre-alpha version on Xbox 360 for what should be a pretty successful at its output. The first few seconds of play, I was amazed by the quality and texture of the environment that was displayed on the screen. The sets are super-colorful and lively, combined with small distant rattle of hungry zombies, we believe it!

It therefore follows the story where we left off in Dead Island, but in the shoes of a new character, a hero came to save the last survivors of the island, but for whom things have gone wrong and becomes turn a survivor. It does not say anything more about the scenario unfortunately. General gameplay side, nothing seems to have changed from the first name. Always beating the zombie with the smallest object that can not pick up or make and obviously the pannel of objects largely been revised upwards.

Where the game changes a bit, it's not only driving vehicles (a small boat in my essay, which allows to switch quickly from one area to another), but also through strategic direction. In fact, the island is still populated by many survivors who seek to keep that nickname! Unsurprisingly, it will help them fight against zombie attacks. For this, the player will intelligently place various objects collected over the adventure, as barricades of wood, barbed wire, wire, mines, ... to create safe zones and save up to world of infection.

As for zombies, again I take my hat off to developers Techland. Because the variety in the zombie is huge. It is very rare to see twice a zombie dressed in the same way in a chapter of the game In addition, some zombies have special abilities, like a zombie Brazilian who tried to eat me mode capoeira, a worker or in combination heavy indestructible! I will pass the details of their deaths, by explosion, broken skulls, kick in the butt, ... all creation as well as each other via a torrent hemoglobin salussant the decor and my weapons.

Finally, even if it had lasted two hours, this kind of demo is always too short for my taste. But frankly, I do not know if it was the best move of the game, I remain amazed and I seriously want to know more about this Dead Island: Riptide. What makes me angry is that Stassart Master did not want to reveal about a release date!

Oh awesome, I really hope you can explore using the boat. I was disappointed in the original that those places you see from the hotel at the beginning of the game arent explorable (especially the costal town)

loved the original and will buy day one

Kinda sound like the boat is used for fast travel just like the first game

Anyway, couldn't be more hyped for this. Best co-op game last year

I really enjoyed Dead Island. It had great atmosphere. More of this would be awesome. Do we know if this will come out this year or 2013?

Gameinformer has reported that Dead Island Riptide will be shown at PAX this week in Seattle. Is anyone attending? It would be great to get some early impressions from GAF.

They already want to show videos - awesome! I'm ready for anything, just give me more of Dead Island. They changed Purna appearance in their new concepts/cover.

Nice! I liked Dead Island, but I had one gripe I hope they fix with this one: perpetual daytime. It drove me nuts that there was no day/night cycle.

I'll be at PAX, see if I can post any impressions or if they'll allow videos or not. At the least I can tell what they have there.

How much I would like too see these back. More hotels please that you could enter. The interior missions were the best missions. I know the hotel was related to the story and characters, but bring more for exploration.

Oh well, the sequel is based on swams now so I think the last two concepts at the end of the page will take place.
