Except for most people but you. What you've described as being normal to relationships is in fact deviant, abnormal, and abusive behaviour which is quite obviously not the norm.

As someone who survived domestic abuse from a mentally ill father who refused to seek any form of help, despite knowing full well he needed it, please stop talking.
Until you understand the horrors of growing up and living with a man several times stronger than you who controls your access to food, shelter, and the outside world (and thus, any method of "telling on him"), and whose sole method of stress relief is beating you with closed fists until you beg for mercy or he sees blood, you have no god damn right to tell the victims of a monster that they're being unfair when they feel relief at that monster's death.
Edit: And yes, I know I'm describing my own situation with the beatings being described. The funny thing is, this guy sounds worse than my own father.
I've never had hot liquid poured on me anyway...

Use of physical force can only have physical restraint (as in "I didn't beat my wife's face bloody"), not mental restraint (as in "Someone has disagreed with me, time to tell them they have a god complex")

You don't know anything about them, their situation or what they've been through yet you think you know enough to call them scum? What if they suffered decades of physical and mental abuse at the hands of this guy? What if they tried to get him help but he wouldn't comply?

But yeah, I remember people asserting that there should be some unconditional respect for the dead, especially when Scalia died. Fuck no. If people hate you that much even after you're gone, you clearly did something wrong.
I'm sure he'll probably post something mindnumbingly stupid in the Facebook GAF group mostly populated with people who got permabanned.

Having a mental illness does NOT excuse being an asshole. The man had a supporting family and access to medical care. Yet he still chose to drink (which 90% of the time makes any illness worse) and hurt his family. Fuck that. I'll save my pity for people with mental illnesses that actually want help.

voodoojohn joined NeoGAF on July 1st, 2007 and was banned on February 11th, 2017, which was a month longer than expected and much longer than he deserved. voodoojohn battled with misogyny in his latter posts and lost his battle, ultimately due to being the horses ass he was known for. He leaves behind an unfinished argument with countless relieved posters.
As a junior member, voodoojohn quickly became a model example of shitposting combined with strawman arguments and a complete commitment to hypocrisy and being generally offensive. voodoojohn valiantly argued to the strife of people of color in America, but not so much in a brave & patriotic way but more as an excuse to deride women. While eating, voodoojohn was the NeoGAF WTF!? food combos champion and went on to sufficiently embarrass his family and country by spending the remainder of his service in the kitchen combining one entire can of cut yellow corn with a bag of nacho cheese doritos.
voodoojohn was surprisingly intelligent, however he lacked ambition and motivation to do anything more than being reckless, wasteful, squandering the family savings, and fantasizing about get rich quick schemes. voodoojohn's hobbies included couchsurfing, choosing a new plasma TV, loving TOSTADAS (a lot), expediting tags for the more beloved among us, and fishing, which he was less skilled with than the previously mentioned. voodoojohn's account served no other obvious purpose, he did not contribute to NeoGAF or serve this community and he possessed no redeeming qualities besides quick whited sarcasm which was amusing during his junior days.
